Submit stuff for Episode 67: The Tips Show!
Once again, Episode 66 needs to be re-recorded. We’ll be doing that on Tuesday night. In the mean time, it’s that time again!
Tips for non-noobs
So you’ve been around Halo a while? Know some tips that help people between levels 20-30? This is your chance to give back to the Halo community. Send in your weapon tips, movement tips, teamwork tips, etc. using the submit news and tips link on the right. Just be sure to include your gamertag so we can ban you give you credit.
Map of the Month: Turf!
This episode we’ll be giving you all the insider info about Turf, which I like to call “superjump central” sometimes. Seriously don’t bother sending in your superjumps or how to get out of the level. They will go in my other inbox (wastebasket). But anything else is fair game. There’s lots of other interesting stuff to know on this map about how to get the jump on your enemy around corners or up high, good camping spots (let the hatemail begin), sniping spots, ways to use cover, weapon combos to get, etc. Just please don’t tell us where the plasma pistol is. It’s not like someone just went to toys ‘r’ us and said, “What?? Halo 2!! It’s out already!! MOM!!” We’ve been around the block, give us some credit. And hook us up with your gamertag so we don’t call you “some random nublet.” Oh and we’ll be breaking it down by gamertype so send stuff in about slayer, KOTH or Territories, Assault or CTF, Juggernaut or Oddball. And if you’re crazy like me, send in tips for all of them!
This stuff is due by Thursday night but the sooner you get your tip in, the more likely it will be on the front page. So get it in early!

Xbox7887’s Trainer Leads to a Screenshot Cornucopia
So about a week ago, we mentioned a new screenshot trainer developed by xbox7887 (well, sort of – we mentioned the pictures synide took with it). Turns out a LOT of people have been playing with this – a few days ago, Dojorkan took a bunch of really cool shots of Cortana, the Prophet of Truth, and Delta Halo (if you don’t like RAR files, we’re hosting all of these locally – you can find his originals in a folder labeled ‘originals-darker’, but we’ve also added some color-corrected ones, for folks who find the originals TOO dark), and Sorahn has been playing with a panoramic picture stitcher – check out these ridiculously high-res shots. (He added another set of pics later on – not scenery, so much, but some cool hi-res stuff nonetheless, plus some fun interface pics.)

Wow – time marches on. Over at High Speed Halo, the final speed record set by the winners of our Going Nowhere Fast contest has fallen – Truth and Reconciliation has now been completed (on Legendary) in 18:21. Congrats to Riptor for closing the book on this one! Thanks, Ducain.

Gauss Montage
Montages might be getting a bit old… but over at Halo2Forum.com, there’s a Gauss Montage (well, both hogs are featured, but it’s predominately the Gauss), and it’s really, really nicely done. 124 mb, WMP9 format. (I’ve whipped up a QuickTime version for those who can’t deal with WMP9 – but I haven’t heard whether I’m allowed to post it or not, so it needs to wait.) Check it out – there’s some awesome footage, and plenty of interesting effects. (And a HILARIOUS accidental triple betrayal near the end…)

He’s not the first to receive one – but he IS the first to send us a picture. Laird was one of the poster winners in our E3 contest – and it looks like the first thing he did was unroll it from its tube and snap a photo. He’s looking forward to getting it framed – and I agree, it should look incredible on the wall!

XCrazedPenguinX told me about an awesome idea he had the other day. Why don’t I rotate among the Rec clans so I get to play with more than just Rec A? So that’s what I’m doing. Rist Peblo is overlord of Rec A while I’m gone, and I’m now a member of Rec B for a month or so. After the Bungie match I’ll get back to hosting the full party custom madness and I can make some new friends in Rec B. Then it’s on to Rec C, etc. Yay!
