It’s taking a bit longer than I’d expected to get the 1.03 patch for Mac Halo out to the fans… so in the meantime, we’ve decided to run HBO-Subnova as a 1.02 server, with a mapcycle that mirrors HBO-GameDaemons. (We’ve also removed the password for it.) If you have Mac Halo, and you feel left out of the whacky HBO gametypes… come on by!

Hehe – I read the article this morning, but managed to overlook the fact that it was Halo news. Ouch! Thanks to Rams, of BGH, and Dinky, for pointing out the error of my ways. Gamespy posted a ‘Year in Video’ article, in which they ranked what they considered to be the top 10 game videos of 2003. Halo 2’s E3 trailer came in at number 2, trailing only the Half-Life 2 E3 gameplay video. Not too shabby!

Ooh… see what happens when i go through the unread forum posts? Shishka pointed out a project of his over at The Silent Cartographers; as soon as that Halo Editing Kit is available, you should be able to melee your buddies with a pretty gorgeous energy sword. Wonga.

In the last couple of weeks, there have been two new episodes of 343 Guilty Stick sent in; I’m just now getting to them. (Sorry.) Episode 5 looks at the Halo 2 Announcement trailer… and will be continued in the future. Timberland is sort of an interlude. Enjoy!

One of the ‘lost in the flood’ emails that came in during my trip was a message from Justin ‘Saber-Scorpion’ Stebbins, who pointed out a bunch of cool LEGO constructions over at his site. I particularly liked the Pillar of Autumn! Sorry for the delay…

Almost forgot… we got some cool news from Blackstar recently. For Christmas, he got a spare copy of Halo (Xbox) – everyone should grab this, because it’s really cheap right now. For the heck of it, he went to the “Game Demo” options to see if there was anything new… and what should he find but both the E3 Demo trailer and the Making Of video! So, for folks who don’t have fast internet connections, or who have better sound systems hooked up to their TV than their computer… you can get these in DVD format on a new copy of Halo!

We’ve been chronicling the construction of a wearable Master Chief suit, as created by Chris Bryan. A couple of days ago, he sent along the latest shots; the helmet is finished. What a beautiful paint job! Just scroll to the bottom of the project page to see the latest update.

Dark Impaler posted some impressions of the Red vs Blue Season 2 premiere at Lincoln Center a couple of nights ago; read through for some hints about what’s to come. someone that you don’t know has pointed out a Flash Halo movie on the net; it’s got pretty nice artwork in it! It’s less than a meg, and shows a pretty slick battle between Spartans and Elites. Take a look!
