3Dfx is making a new compression technology available for free in an effort to answer S3’s S4 compression methods, giving Halo yet another rendering possibility when the time comes. Thanks, Steve, for the tip to this IGN PC story. Pax.

What’s going on? In the last 24 hours, the Halo SETI Team has submitted 39 units… but the Bungie team has dropped in 104! (Of course, someone new just joined their team… but that’s no excuse!) Come on, people… we won’t catch them that way…

Well, we can’t expect miracles, I guess. Our mailserver is down till tomorrow, so this comes from the Core: A new Halo website is on the streets, goes by the name of Hola Halo Communications. It’s early yet… Pax.

Not too much going on, yet… enjoy the weekend.

Eek. Sometime since our last SETI update, the Bungie SETI Team pulled away from the Halo SETI Team… 1264 units to 878. (The Halo team picked up a bunch of new members, though… they’re up to 42 now, to Bungie’s 24, so things might happen soon.) Keep it going!

I’m really sorry… I updated this yesterday, but forgot to mention it here. Aaron Davies submitted new desktops for your perusal… Wallpaper page updated. Sorry, Aaron.

Goodness. Abducted by aliens, all of us. Yeah, that’s it. We’re back, though… we think. Very sorry for the downtime. (What are these little knobs coming out of our necks?)

Lots of stuff happening while we were gone… Total Halo released a home-grown movie (pretty fun, actually)… The Darkside and Halocination together worked on a hoax that had people going about a new vehicle, halo.bungie.com was down, then up, then down, then up, and has two new screenshots for the masses… busy week. Sorry we…

One thing that continued on without our intervention was our forum. Traffic has picked up, though… and now posts are rolling off faster than most people can keep up with them. The current machine hosting the forum can’t handle more posts on the main page… and has choked completely on the 3000+ posts in the…

Wow… we take part of the weekend off, and look what happens! The Core has been going crazy with news and speculation, fueled by some scanned-in screenshots from the PC Gamer article… hop over and read about it!

The Darkside has redone its format yet again… news on the front page now. Keep an eye on this site… it’s religiously updated.

Updates at Halam, Halo Central, Myth Townhall, the new Halo-Net (including a spiffy new forum)… the Halo world is coming alive once more. Is something up? Pax.
