AH: Extra Life This Weekend!

Hey guys, I don’t know if you caught it or not in this week’s AHWU, but Geoff and I will be participating in this year’s Extra Life.
“What is Extra Life?” you might ask. Well, Extra Life is a charity event where you donate money to folks who have promised to sit down and play video games for a solid 24 hours. Geoff and I are going to be doing just that from 8am CST on Saturday the 16th until 8am on Sunday.
You’ll be able to tune in on Achievement Hunter to watch us live and chat along while we play games all day. I’m sure we’ll be also playing Reach and other games with folks throughout the day. We’ll be broadcasting live for the entire event, so you can watch us slowly devolve into madness. We’ll also be having special guests drop by, so keep tuned for that!
You can read more about Extra Life at their official website, but more importantly, you can donate to the Achievement Hunter team right here. Just pick someone you want to donate to and click on the donate button next to their name. The money you donate will go to the hospital that that person has picked to play on behalf of.
You can also check out our Extra Life Group on here for more information on the team.
So, mark down a few hours to check out the antics from the Achievement Hunter office and if you have the ability to, donate a few bucks on behalf of sick kids. See you on Saturday!

AH: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 Achievement Race
Just look how fast time flies when you’re spending almost all your free time playing Reach. Another Achievement Hunter community race is upon us. Rings Race: Part I is a race to complete Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, and is now open for sign-ups.
Put on your red running shoes and leave your Gamertag in the race comments if you would like to participate. Sign-ups will be open until the game is released on October 13th (tomorrow). That is also when the race will start.
P.S. I wish I could bleed gold rings IRL…

Swift, Strong, Brave for marching band

2 Alto Saxophone parts
2 Mellophone parts
2 Trumpet parts
Trombone
Euphonium
Tuba
Glockenspiel
Xylo
Marimba (2)
Vibes
Auxiliary percussion (Bass drum, tam-tam, suspended cymbal, tom drum, snare drum, shaker)
Marching Snares
Marching Tenor drums
Marching Bass drums (4)If you want any more instrumentation added, let me know, or if you want the individual parts.
Included files:
.pdf, .mp3, .sib (sorry, no midi file. The percussion on it sounded awful.)Let me know what you think!

Noble Map Pack
If a cool Forge contest isn’t enough for you, check out the Noble Map Pack – a downloadable map pack containing three new maps (one small, one large, one Invasion). This will go on sale on November 30 (77 days after Halo: Reach’s release), for the now-standard price of 800 MS Points. GrimBrother One (where ISN’T that guy?) found a gallery of screenshots at Halo Waypoint, as well. (Louis Wu 14:28:46 UTC)

Forgetacular ForTheWin
If you live in the US, and you’re any good at all at building maps, you should check out the Bungie Reach Forgetacular Contest – Bungie’s offering 7 Limited Edition Halo: Reach Xbox 360 consoles (!!!) to the winners. May I be the first to say… wonga.(Louis Wu 14:28:26 UTC)

The Making Of Deliver Hope
GrimBrother One is on a roll today – he pointed out the link to the “Making of Deliver Hope” piece now up on Halo Waypoint. Fascinating look behind the scenes – check it out!(Louis Wu 14:27:54 UTC)

Reach Fan Music (for download)
A couple of days ago, we mentioned a stats app that had a demo movie containing fan-composed music. Well, SilverBrin did the composing, and he stopped by yesterday to offer the music for download, by itself. Go grab a copy – it’s quite peaceful!(Louis Wu 14:27:21 UTC)

This one time at Banned Camp…
Yesterday, another batch of Reach players felt the wrath of the Bungie Banhammer – again for credit cheating. (You won’t get banned or have your credits reset for in-game farming – you can play all the Gruntpocalypse you can stand, and using that Target Locator over and over again on Sword Base is completely fine. You WILL get banned or reset (or both) for unplugging your internet in order to fool the system into thinking you haven’t completed a challenge you HAVE completed.) The B.net thread is full of delicious, salty tears – read it and be nourished. Sl’askia started a thread on our forum, if you feel like participating in the laughter.(Louis Wu 14:26:33 UTC)
