Die Trying
neo56695 let us know about “Die Trying“, a Halo Reach music video – some really clever clip choices (and some really odd ones). Check it – works pretty well, overall! (Plenty of campaign spoilers here.) (Louis Wu 16:34:43 UTC)

Reach Playlist Updates
TravisSch (among others) pointed out that Bungie’s Playlists page has been updated with new info – a Snipers playlist will be going live on Tuesday, along with a Living Dead list. Nice! (Don’t forget that Campaign Matchmaking starts today.) (Louis Wu 16:26:16 UTC)

Lemmings Evolved
RC Master found a Covenant playing for the wrong team. I laughed. (YouTubed, too, if you have an issue with Silverlight.) (Louis Wu 16:23:27 UTC)

September Reach Sales in US: 3.3 Million
IGN posted some sales stats for Reach, according to NPD – 3.3 copies sold in the US during September. This matches the first 12 days of sales of Halo 3, back in 2007 – making Reach only the third game of this generation to sell more than 3 million copies during its launch month. (Modern Warfare 2 sold 4.2 million copies its first month.)(Louis Wu 16:20:31 UTC)

Boneyard Weirdness
FyreWulff found some strange… thingies in Boneyard when he was exploring in Forge. Leftover bits from the Beta? Objects for game modes that were cut? Hmm… (Louis Wu 16:19:11 UTC)

Halo Reach Tribute – Bodhisvatta Cathedral
Cortana4ever whipped up a tribute to Reach – contains lots of spoilers, but if you’ve finished the campaign, it’s a nice emotional farewell to Bungie’s involvement in the series. (Louis Wu 16:18:11 UTC)

Noble Map Pack
Bungie announced yesterday the release of the Noble Map Pack that is to be released on November 30th for 800 M$ points. The first of the new maps is Anchor 9, based on the orbital platform from the campaign level “Long Night of Solace”. No space battles, but you get to play outside in low gravity again. The second map is Tempest, a forerunner-like map with a slight resemblance to Relic. It has the same aesthetics as Forge World, but we can’t tell if it’s on the Ark or Halo. Last up is Breakpoint, based off of the campaign level “The Package”. It feels like an exposed area of where Halsey’s lab in the forerunner structure is on Reach. This map is built for invasion, but I could have seen it being a regular map as well. Discuss in the forums.

Halo Reach Birth of a Spartan
Birth of a Spartan is not coming along so well. I have had a few technical difficulties with Finale and have finally fixed a few problems only to realize that this song is very hard to put into sheet music. I cant seem to find a way to get it to sound right. I have the entire song figured out till the end from what I believe to be the correct notes but I am kind of stuck putting the part where Carter is about to recieve his augmentations into shet music. I havent found a way to put that part on Finale yet but in time it will happen.
Keep looking at this blog for updates on how it is working out and maybe even an estimated time of arrival. Leave a comment or email me if you think you can help or have any suggestions. When the sheet music is finally here I will move this blog into the sheet music section.
UPDATE: Ironically after I posted this I found out the perfect way to put it in sheet music! Now I am at the part where Carter’s eyes turn blue. Once again if you have any suggestions feel free to leave a comment. If you would like to help me out with Finale leave a comment asking me and I will send you the file via email.

Humpday Challenge: HaloGAF
I would have lost money on this match had I bet on it… but Bungie faced off against the Halo fans from NeoGAF last night – and beat them. (Well, in two games, anyway. The third game, against what could be described as the HaloGAF Dream Team, was, in the words of GhaleonEB, “a mauling for the ages”.) The writeup is pretty entertaining, and the visual assets are great. Go see. (The second game, of course, IS available online – video from tashi’s viewpoint is here, game stats are here. That’s what’s known as a ‘Double Steaktacular’.)(Louis Wu 22:06:39 UTC)
