Talkin’ ’bout videogames
Wow… so there’s a company who monitors web discussion of video games, and reports their results. (That’s odd.) And for the month of September, Halo: Reach was the most talked-about game online. (That’s not quite so odd.) If you want more details about Overtone’s GameVoice report, go read the press release.(Louis Wu 10:56:40 UTC)

AH: Octob-Gear, War-ctober…
These terrible titles doing anything for ya? Yeah, me neither.
Anyway, for those that don’t know, tomorrow is the beginning of the biggest XP event in Gears of War 2 history! From October 29th until November 1st, players will receive a Brumak sized 31x XP boost across mutliplayer games and Horde.
You’ll still get a bit of a boost playing today, as XP had been boosted to 4x since October 12th to celebrate Gears of War 2 becoming available for Games On Demand.
So if you can tear yourself away from one of the many, games released recently, hop into some Gears of War 2 and boost thy rank. Yours truly will be hosting a Weekend Hunt for the event, but more details on that tomorrow!

Although they’re not listing the total number of units, Microsoft has revealed (via an earnings call today, courtesy of GamesBeat) that Reach generated $350 million in its first 16 days on the market – a decent guess is over 5 million units sold.
