DICE have recently announced a community challenge for everyone playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to get involved with, but you’ll have to work as a team.

The Vietnam DLC pack is due for release on December 21st and includes 4 new multiplayer maps to improve your Bad Company experience, but there’s a hidden 5th map. DICE have announced today that this 5th map, Operation Hastings from the 2004 PC game Battlefield: Vietnam, will be made available with the Vietnam DLC pack once the community reach 69 million team actions from the starting date. These include repairing vehicles, resupply drops, healing team mates, spotting out enemies and reviving fallen comrades.
Every team action performed in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and the Vietnam expansion pack will be counted, including games across XBox 360, PS3 and PC, but only starting from December 21st when the official DLC launch date is.

The Vietnam pack is available for PC on the 18th from the EA Store and Steam, available Worldwide on XBox 360 from December 21st, while PS3 gets a staged release of 21st for North America and 22nd for Europe. Hey guys. We here at Achievement Hunter love trying out new things. Well…let me rephrase that.

Geoff loves thinking up new ideas. Then he says “Hey Jack, I have this new idea.” And then we discuss it. Typically when his ideas don’t involve physical punishment to myself, they are fun. But of course, they always end up being more work for me.

So, this morning, when Geoff said, “Hey Jack, I have an idea…let’s play HORSE!” I thought to myself, hey, that’s actually kind of cool. Upon hearing that, Geoff decided that it would be my responsibility to actually produce the damn thing. Great. So, we spent about three hours playing and having a good time, then I spent the next two cutting the video while Geoff listened to Howard Stern and read gossip blogs.

What came out of this whole ordeal is the video you see below. Let us know if you like it, we’re thinking about making it in to a series…which means even more work for me…fantastic. Merry Christmas indeed.

It has to be yours (no submitting your friend’s cool kill or fail), it has to be a clip (not a screenshot), and it needs to be on Bungie.net (doesn’t need to be rendered, though that’s helpful). So this is probably going to be the last Fable video you see for a while, what with Tron and Cataclysm hitting tomorrow. You can expect a ton of videos in those games for a while.

We received almost 400 entries to our “I’m So Poor” contest for Noble Map Pack codes – I wish we had that many codes to give away! (Only 10, folks – sorry.) So here’s what happened: the entries were split into “funny” and “serious”, and dupes were removed. Then 5 entries from each group were selected randomly. Gamertags were checked to 1) make sure that Reach had been played, and 2) had NOT been used with the Noble Map Pack yet. (Yes, this might have bitten you if you’d played with your friends. None of our potential winners had that issue.) I decided NOT to share the serious stories – but here are the 5 winning funny entries (unedited):

• Ninja Slothboy: because microsoft increased the cost of xbox live by $10 a year. If they hadn’t done that I could have bought the map pack. As it is we only turn on the heat long enough to thaw out the water in the bathtub so we can get clean once a week. Although clean is relative. If you saw the state that water is in after 6 weeks of family bathing you would know what I’m talking about. We’re so poor that my daughters have to work in the coal mines for 6 hours a day just so they can afford to buy the tools they need to work in the salt mines.
• nikoli1287: I had to take out a second mortgage just to pay for a new helmet in Halo Reach.
• Garbled: I didn’t buy Halo 2 or 3, I just added roman numerals to my Halo: CE disk.
• Lebeau 182: my ten gallon hat is a water jug
• WolfSarge: my eviction notice said, “All your apartment are belong to us”… Then an ominous disembodied voice announced “Territory-LOST”.
