AH: AH PR – PSN and XBL Security Issues
While I hope this isn’t something we need to do regularly, the information in this post may benefit some people.
As you are most likely aware, the PlayStation Network (PSN) has been down since April 20th, with Sony confirming that this was due to an intrusion on the service. This week, Sony have also given warning that PSN account holder information may have been obtained as a result of the service intrusion. Although Sony can neither confirm or deny what information has been obtained, if any, the current advise is to change any and all passwords linked to your PSN account. If you have a credit card linked to your PSN account, your card number and expiry date (but not the security code) could also be compromised, and it may be in your best interest to contact your bank to ensure no fraudulant purchases are made.
For more information on the PSN outage, please read the FAQ on the issue.
There is also a security warning on the Xbox Live Status page of their website. There is currently a known exploit within matchmaking for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, in which players may receive messages over Xbox Live with specific wording in the title. These messages may be an attempt to obtain your personal information stored on your Xbox Live account, otherwise known as a phising scam. Although there are no official instructions provided on keeping your information secure, I personally would suggest vigilance with all messages on Xbox Live from unknown Gamertags until the issue is resolved.
We’ll try to keep you all up to date with any major changes to the current events.

Making Gold from Clay
We heard from Antithesis recently; check out his Halo Sculpture gallery (specifically the third page) for great shots of a new, Reach-style Hunter and a very cool tribute to Waypoint’s bs angel. Awesome beans!(Louis Wu 17:21:13 UTC)

Myyke’s HBO ‘All Halos’ Competition: Week One
I love our community. Check out this contest from Myyke – he’s looking for cool screenshots of ODSTs (either in-game or manipulated, just like Bungie’s All-Stars rules). He’ll pick his favorite 7 entries, and award each one a valid serial number from a stack of Italian Halo PC copies he’s got. What does this get you? It gets you a Halo nameplate on Bungie.net. He’ll be running this contest for 3 weeks, total; you’ll have to come back next week to see what the criteria for the next 7 winners are. Myyke – you rock.(Louis Wu 16:09:59 UTC)

The Yorker’s Top 10 Gaming Easter Eggs
I meant to put this up Monday: Four members of The Yorker put together their list of the top 10 gaming Easter eggs. Our favorite food nipple Grunt from Halo: CE made the cut, along with an infamous glitch from Pokemon Red/Blue and Google Earth.(Hitmonchan107 04:52:57 UTC)

Bombs Disarmed
Thanks to all of your hard work, GrifballHub’s missing bombs have been recovered. For their dedication and perseverance, six soldiers have been given Grifball armor and accessories (presumably of the avatar variety). Congrats to the winners! Halo Reach: Top 10 Moments from Seasons One and Two
In Episode 20, Anoj put together the top 10 greatest moments from September until now. No. 2 on the list is still one of my favorite Reach clips yet. Just a reminder: Anoj is accepting submissions for the next three episodes, “Unusual Kills (Episode 21),” “Exterminations (22)” and “Epic Fails (23).” (Hitmonchan107 04:19:21 UTC)

How Far Did the Apple fall From the Tree?
Kotaku just put out a blog post reminiscing about Halo’s early days on the Mac platform and thoughts on what might have been. Certainly no footage that hasn’t been around for a decade, but still always fun to give it a look again nonetheless. In fun related news, Marty himself wanted to add a few different reminders that Halo was always going to be cross-platform for both Mac and PC from the very beginning. You can learn a lot from your Elders…(GrimBrother One 04:04:01 UTC)

The Tattoo Makes It
Pretty fun visualization of The Meta, from Luke McKay today! (I’m not sure those rings would feel really great under a helmet, though…)(Louis Wu 20:18:23 UTC)
