The Winter Mythic Recon Challenge is about to enter its seventh week. The challenge that lies ahead of you? ONI: Sword Base on Mythic Difficulty!
The rules are fairly simple. Load up the mission, make sure your settings are on Solo Legendary, switch on ALL 13 skulls (both Gold and Silver), and also turn on FFA scoring. When you complete the mission successfully, upload the film to your File Share, and send me a tweet on Twitter with the hashtag #wmrcentry7 along with a hyperlink to your film. Don’t worry about tagging the saved film. Simply put “Mythic Difficulty” somewhere in the film’s description, and that will suffice.
Just a few other tidbits of information for you to keep in mind:
1) You must have an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.
2) You must have your XBL gamertag linked to your Bungie.net profile.
3) The mission must be completed while you are online and during the seven-day contest period. Make sure you can view it in your Game History.
4) The mission must be completed in one setting. No save/quit abusing! Only Solo Mythic rules apply here (Legendary, all skulls active, FFA scoring).
5) If you die, you must exit and reload the mission. This generates a ‘clean’ carnage report for the film.
6) Only one submission is allowed per person, per challenge.
7) You must submit your entry during the seven-day contest time period.
This contest begins 12:00 AM Pacific Time on Friday, 3/23/2012, and lasts for seven days. This gives you all day Friday, an entire weekend, plus four additional weekdays to complete the mission. The winner, who will instantly receive four free months of Xbox Live Gold and later will receive some very cool special prizes from 343 Industries in the mail (forwarded by The Tyrant!), will be notified the following weekend.
If you need assistance, both HBO and Halo Waypoint are here to help with the coveted Halo: Reach Mythic Difficulty Guide as well as the newer LASO Challenge Guide. Both of these enriched guides can also be found on MythicTyrant.com. Thanks for participating, and as always, we’ll see you on the battlefield!

Curse of the AFK follows Samuel throughout matchmaking as he gets nothing but AFK teamates. He was cursed by a man in the beginning of the video who had an AFK as a teammate. Curse of the AFK is an original and classic comedy machinima made by Meanscreen Production. Enjoy!

From Black Theorem:
Welp, 2:30 in the morning on my birthday, on a Friturday mornight, nonetheless, I find myself a slave to this abusive wonderfully loving, kind, and caring site. What is a Friturday morning, you ask? It’s a weird verbal amalgam of Friday night and Saturday morning. I heard a kid say it once, and I couldn’t let it pass! I was, in fact, feeling particularly Gandalfy. Though, I can’t honestly say I don’t enjoy this. There hasn’t been a feature in some time, and this map really deserves it. And by really deserves it, I mean this map fits all the criteria required and surpasses them in a manner than befits really deserving it. If that doesn’t make sense, search “recursion” for a reference.
Now, why so much buildup? Isn’t it obvious? This map looks like it plays good, it plays like it plays good, and… that’s all she wrote.
It’s like a figure eight on top of a figure eight DEVOURED a figure eight that was currently in the process of beating up a crippled figure eight, which ALL go eaten in turn by HOMY, then vomited most loudly into a bowl shaped like a figure eight. Make sense? Didn’t think so. It’s a multi-leveled tetraquetra; a four-pronged figure eight looping back over itself.
The following is a fictional scenario that may or may not have happened, and does not reflect blah-blah-blah; just read it.
Make it to top mid? You are gonna die, better drop down and get the Evade train out. Evade the wrong way? You are probably right in the middle of the enemies spawn hive, so you just wasted that power up unless you have a miserably bad team. If you manage to make it to the health pack before enemy DMR fire rips you like paper, you just might survive… if it weren’t for that sniper that just took you out. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!
