  • Community Member of the Week: Toa Freak

Every Monday, we feature a community member who does one or more of the following things: routinely goes above and beyond for their fellow forum members, is a positive and active member of the community, and/or sends me mass amounts of cat pictures. This week our Community Member of the Week is Toa Freak. Read a little more about him below, then hit his profile to get a link to the machinima-that-must-not-be-named!

    Community Member of the Week

    Gamertag: Toa Freak.

Origin of gamertag: When I was taking a website building class when I was 12, I needed to register a GeoCities account. I was huge into BIONICLE at the time, but Bionicle_Freak was taken. So, I picked Toa_Freak27 (don’t know where the 27 came from). Eventually, I shortened it to Toa Freak, and the name stuck.

Previous or current clan/community: Bungie, BZPower, Rooster Teeth.

Halo game(s) you are currently playing: Reach.

Favorite map, game type and playlist: Lockout, Team Slayer, Invasion.

Least favorite map, game type and playlist: Rat Race, Halo Reach’s Infection, Living Dead.

    Preferred control scheme: Bumper Jumper.

Halo playing style: Offensive. I’m the guy with the most kills and the lowest K/D spread, often enough.

Favorite Halo character: Jacob Keyes or Admiral Cole.

    Favorite Halo book: Halo: Evolutions.

Favorite Halo quote: “They call it, Halo.”

Halo creations: Some horrible machinima I prefer to forget….

  • Reach Weekly Challenge – 3.26.12

    Halo: Reach Screenshot

Spartans, we’re sending you back into Campaign this week for your challenge so listen up! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is:

    NOT LOUGH, HIGH – 30,000cR
Earn a score of 250000 in any mission in the Reach Campaign.

Sounds hard? It’s supposed to be! But here are few hints that might help you reach the lofty number:

Turn on some Skulls – It’s always fun to mix up the gameplay, but for maximum point awesomeness try picking Skulls with score multipliers, for instance Famine, Tilt and Mythic.

Raise the difficulty – Get the biggest bang for your scoring buck by setting the difficulty to Legendary.

Amp up the speed – The faster you complete it, the more points you will earn.

Get fancy with your kills – Multi-kills, Assassinations, Headshots, oh my! Going for style pays off in lots of points for you.

Good luck, and don’t forget to stop by the Weekly Challenge Thread!

  • Podtacular 279: Non-information

    Download
While we wait for more Halo 4 information to come down the pipe, we take some time to talk about some things going on in the community. The two big talking points discussed on the show are the non-informative responses we received form 343i and the end of the Reach API and online file share. Not that we’re trying to complain, but with 343i taking the reins of Halo, they are legitimate concerns that we have. Enjoy
