2old2play Over Age 40 Halo: Reach Monthly Tournament
From DEEP NNN:
2old2play, say it isn’t so!
Only the dead are too old to play, and the members of 2old2play.com are not anywhere near dead. Our site was formed seven years ago by a large group of avid Halo 2 fans. The early days of 2old2play were certainly Halo-centric, and one of the reigning Halo events was the Over Age 40 Halo 2 Tournament. That’s what I’m here to talk about today.
Every third Tuesday of each month, members of 2old2play aged 40 and older get together to see who is still above ground (gulp) and who is to be crowned the Aged Monarch of Halo. We have been doing this for nearly seven years and don’t plan on stopping. A member named Dantez Inferno first envisioned the tournament and went about making it happen around Sep. 14, 2005. I suppose Dantez Inferno thought he was pretty old and at his age, rare to be playing Halo and he wouldn’t get much action. He was wrong!
16 members aged 40 to 50+, male and female, showed up for the battle. Battle we did, and we discovered along the way that playing for fun, fellowship and competition was worth turning out every month since then. I suppose Dantez Inferno also thought he was so good that if anybody showed up, he’d beat ’em up bad. He was correct! He has won 13 of the tournaments. That inaugural event was even highlighted on Bungie.net.
You can read all about the tournament and its history in this topic. Everything you need to know about who, what ,where and when is in there.
Yes, we’re still ticking, sticking, laughing, and kicking butt every month. We’ve worn out Halo 2, Halo 3 and are currently burning out Halo: Reach while we impatiently wait for Halo 4. This where you come in. Are you, or anyone you know, age 40 or over and interested in playing with us? All you have to do is join 2old2play.com (completely free, minimum age of 25), guarantee you are age 40 or older, and wear a mic. Upcoming tournaments will be held on April 17, May 15, June 19 and so on. You’ve got plenty of time as long as you’re looking down at the grass and not up.
What’s that, you ask? What do you win? Why bragging rights for one month, of course, and your name entered into the historical record. Maybe seven years from now you’ll be looking back and see your name there. A small part of Halo history.
Not interested in the tournament but still looking for truly ancient Halo warriors? 2old2play also has a group of players aged 50 to almost 70 that play Halo: Reach customs once every week. We are a laid-back bunch that love to laugh while playing Halo. We’ve been running our customs going on seven years now. When we fill a room, there is at least 800 years of experience in there. If you are sufficiently aged and interested, just contact me, DEEP NNN, through Xbox LIVE, Halo Waypoint, or 2old2play. Please tell me if you are old enough in the message.
Hope to see you at one of our events!

Fast News From The Food Nipple

A few specific things to note are some absolutely gorgeous concept art wallpaper of the new Halo 4 multiplayer map “Warhouse”, as well as a bit more information on the design philosophy of said map. Also of time-sensitive interest is the reminder of the looming final change-over from BNet to Waypoint with regards to any and all stats, filesharing, films, user-generated-content, partridges, and pear trees. Throw in info about the April matchmaking playlist updates and you’ve got yourself some reading material. Halo IRL: Onyx Place
Halo is a fictional universe. However, sometimes we catch sight of things in real life that remind us of our favorite science fiction video game franchise. This particular series, titled Halo in Real Life, showcases those very moments.
