January DXP Weekends updated
FyreWulff let us know that the Matchmaking playlists have been updated again – you can see the announcement on Bungie’s forum, or swing by FyreWulff’s wiki for info on ALL DXP lists so far. (This week’s list, kicked off yesterday, is Mythic Brawl – and for a little bit longer, the 7 on the 7th list is live, too. Go play!) (Louis Wu 14:49:59 UTC)

AH: Scott Baio-Nettah
Alright folks, we got ourselves some Bayonetta on the brains. Geoff and I have been plowing through this one and today you get to see the fruits of our labor.
We’ll start off nice and easy with the “Record Collector” achievement.
Next up is a big head with dragon arms. Weird. You also get the “Fortitudo, Bringer of Flame” achievement when you beat him.
Up next is the sexy achievement “You Want To Touch Me?” and “Nice Try.” It’s a two-fer!
And last but not least is “Just in the nick of time.” Whew, you got that right.

An early glimpse of Reach artwork
Wow. NeoGAF’s Gribbix noticed a piece of artwork on Game Informer’s website last night – it was taken down quickly, but not quickly enough, it seems. (The placeholder article it was attached to had a date of January 9, so it’s likely we’ll see it ‘officially’ in two days.) Meanwhile, check out the hawtness early! (And shame on GI for testing stuff on a live site.)(Louis Wu 19:43:04 UTC)

Influential Shooters
IGN UK has put together a list of the Most Influential Shooters of All Time – 7 are PC-only, 1 is multiplatform, one is for PS3 (the upcoming MAG – sort of silly to call it ‘most influential of all time’ before it’s even released), and the final one… is Halo 3. Thanks, Gilver.(Louis Wu 19:25:05 UTC)

MovieTacular
Four new movies today over at Bungie.net’s Comm Chatter (yeah, I know, we’re using the OLD ‘tacular’ definition, not the new one – blame urk for not posting a fifth movie, I guess):- im so good at halo looks at two perspectives on obnoxiousness (inside and outside) – love the Canadian accent.
- The Grunts of Firefight will make you wonder how people come up with their ideas. If you can get past the disturbing aspects of this project, it’s pretty funny.
- Bipolar Nick has ‘Halo 3 Top 10 Guardian Kills: Episode 1‘ – very dark, hard to see, but what you can see is nice.
- Black Light is back with Phil Day Thirteen: Championship I – more Phil goodness.
Go watch!(Louis Wu 19:10:22 UTC)

More Proof that Bungie’s Gonna Take Over the World
IGN has posted an article about how the Gears of War franchise could benefit… from some of Bungie’s innovations. It’s a good read! Thanks, GrimBrother One.(Louis Wu 15:57:43 UTC)
