i don’t know if we talked about it on the site or not, but Burnie and Jack rented out a theater to watch the National Championship game Thursday (not just any theater, THE theater). It was most likely the coolest thing either has ever done, or obviously will do. I was a bit intimidated by watching my dear sweet Alabama play with 120 UT fans, but thankfully Nathan and his wife showed up and confused everyone – taking all of the pressure off me.-

Congrats to Believe The Hype, the winners of the 2009 MLG National Championship, which took place in Orlando this weekend. (They flew through the tournament, winning every series they played in; they beat Final Boss 3-2, Instinct 3-2, Str8 Rippin 3-2, and Classic 6-2 to walk away with $100,000.) Info on upcoming Halo Lit
CaptainTony has done some digging – and come up with the following info: Amazon has Greg Bear’s first Forerunner novel slated for release on July 6, 2010, and McMillan is listing a due-in-March ‘Halo Boxed Set‘, which CaptainTony speculates might be the first three Tor-published Halo novels (Ghosts of Onyx, Contact Harvest, and The Cole Protocol), packaged together. While release dates are not set in stone until they’re officially announced, book release dates as posted by Amazon have a MUCH better track record than video game release dates – so even if they’re off by a little, July is a decent target for the first of the Bear-authored trilogy.
