Why the Halo Movie Failed to Launch
Wired Magazine has a pretty interesting article, excerpted from Jamie Russell’s new book Generation Xbox: How Video Games Invated Hollywood, that looks back at the whole Halo Movie fiasco of 2005-2006. Some of this information is pretty common knowledge (at least among Halo fanatics), but Russell did a fantastic job of putting the story together, and some of the backstory is definitely new (to me, at least). Go give it a read! ElzarTheBam posted about this on our forum, and kicked off some lively discussion – join it!(Louis Wu 17:13:52 UTC)

This Halo 4 montage is meant for entertainment and is not to be taken seriously. This montage features high not-multikills such as the single kill on the other player who doesn’t seem to have a gamertag. Conan is the first person to have a Halo 4 montage because he’s one of the best Halo 4 players out there!

Halo: Reach Panoramas – Crash and Burn

From Hyokin:Last week nomis78 treated you to some of our favorite examples of mishaps and malfunctions, most of them concerning explosions of one form or another. Sometimes the Spartans just need to shift gears away from all that and take a leisurely drive in the varied landscapes of Halo and as always, when they do, we’re there to capture the moment in our panoramas.
So check your mirrors, slide up your stick shift, and bring down the pedal because this week’s theme is Vehicular Mayhem!

A tiny Halo 4 detail, from the crew
Josh Holmes (Halo 4’s creative director) stopped into our forum this morning to clarify a small (but important!) bit of information – if you were worried that an ‘unlock with experience’ system would keep you from being able to pick up weapons you haven’t ‘earned’ yet… worry no more. Read his post for more details. Update: I noticed a similarly useful note over at NeoGAF, this time from Frankie. It’s like they want us to take deep breaths, or something…(Louis Wu 18:14:18 UTC)
