Penance – A Minecraft Remake
You cannot watch this video.

From Daedalos42:This is a Minecraft map I made, with the help of a couple of friends. It is a remake of Damnation from Halo: Combat Evolved, or Penance from Halo: Reach. I tried to build it to scale (I had Halo Custom Edition open in another window just so I could check). There are a few differences, such as Glowstone spread across the map for lighting and only one waterfall, which is more of a fountain than anything. The Pipe Room isn’t as well-made as I would have liked, but it works.
Feel free to use this map however you’d like. There’s a download link in the video description!

Community Member of the Week: Lehnaru
Every Monday, we feature a community member who does one or more of the following things: routinely goes above and beyond for their fellow forum members, is a positive and active member of the community, and/or sends me mass amounts of cat pictures. This week our Community Member of the Week is Lehnaru. Read a little more about him below, then hit his profile to learn about his love for Halo Wars! I mean, Halo 2…
Gamertag: Lehnaru.
Previous or current clan/community: Halopedia.
Favorite Halo game: Halo 2!
Halo weapon specialty/preference: Mid-range.
Halo playing style (offense, defense, sniper, driver, etc.): Offensive.
Anything else we should know? I love Halo 2 because as a standalone game, it definitely holds its own. The gameplay feels so smooth, the storyline is brilliant, the music is beautiful, and the environments are breathtaking. It’s just such a great game.

Reach Weekly Challenge – 5.21.12
After a few glorious weeks of sunshine, it’s a dreary rainy day here in Seattle. And after a few weeks of Multiplayer and Campaign, it’s Firefight time here on your Weekly Challenge. No correlation, of course. But if you find yourself stuck indoors because your local weather system did not get the memo about it nearly being summer, why not grab a few friends and play some Halo! Get comfy on your couch, grab a cool beverage, and settle in for:

More Halo Universe figures revealed
Demoncarnotaur pointed out some new figures in the Halo Universe series coming soon (he found them at HaloFigures.net) – they’ve been discussed on Halo Waypoint before (the original announcement was here, in January, and some prototypes were shown in February), but this is the first I’m seeing of the Chief’s cryotube. Pretty nice! (Louis Wu 21:33:54 UTC)

The HaloGAF Montage (Reach Edition)
ncsuDuncan took on the task of putting together a montage video made up of clips from HaloGAF members – and last night, the 14 minute monstrosity was released. It is NOT your typical montage – while it certainly has its share of unbelievable gameplay and sniper insanity, it also has hilarious goofing around, fails that will have you in tears, and plenty of GAF in-jokes. Really well-done, even if you’re not a GAF regular. Take a look! Update: Duncan re-rendered the film, fixed some blackscreen issues, smoothed out some transitions. New version is linked above.(Louis Wu 17:36:05 UTC)

Celebrating Subs with Eggs
Greenskull and Nak3d Eli worked on a Reach easter egg video together – you can watch it from either viewpoint! Greenskull’s version is here, while Nak3d Eli’s is here. This is a rather long vid (more than 20 minutes in Greenskull’s take, or 10 minutes in Eli’s take), and if you don’t already know what they’re doing, you might be very confused… but it’s pretty entertaining for the amount of fun they’re having. Go watch!(Louis Wu 17:31:37 UTC)

Podtacular 290: Community Impressions
Download | Shownotes
With all the information that was released last week, it’s time to turn attention to the community and see what you all had to say. The submissions we got were very in-depth and while we didn’t read them verbatim on the show, they are definitely good reads. It’s good to see other fans out there that are heavily infested and are genuinely interested in the success of the game and give their honest opinions. Click on the shownotes to see the submissions in full. The limited edition was announced a couple of days as well, which looks frag-tastic. Kete from The Running Riot joins us for this two hour show. (He manages to make the show longer than usual and cause me pain while editing.) Enjoy
