Halo Bulletin, 18 July 2012
The Weekly Halo Bulletin went live on Halo Waypoint last night – and it’s full of questions (and answers!) from fans who either participated in the RTX and SDCC events, or watched footage from those events on the internet and wanted more info. Great stuff. Go read. (It’s in our Halo Bulletin Archive, as well, if you’re having trouble with the login or anything.) Be sure to embiggen the images; they’re… worth clicking through.(Louis Wu 16:10:56 UTC)

Couple Meet in Real Life Five Years After Connecting on Halo
From cadynow:After meeting for the first time on a Halo 3 game lobby five years ago, we built a relationship as best friends for three years through video games, Myspace to Facebook, then finally Skype. Once we talked “face-to-face,” we hit it off as a couple from then on. Now we finally got to meet in person for the first time after dating for two years…

MixMasterChief’s Halo 4 Impressions

From MixMasterChief:So, I was lucky enough to attend the annual Rooster Teeth Expo. Not only that, but I was even luckier to have played Halo 4 during the event. And just when you’d think I had a Geas for it (lol, story joke), I got to play even MORE Halo 4 at a super-secret event, held from 7-10pm after the doors had closed on the rest of the event Saturday night.
I’m not going to tell you how super giddy and bubbly I was to find a lost Frank O’Connor on the Exhibit floor, who I asked to sign my copy of Anniversary, to which he answered, “Only if you tell me where the Halo 4 panel is.” No, instead I shall tell you about how I thought the game was, and a secret or two at the end that I was able to pull from a few people at Certain Affinity and 343 Industries. WITHOUT FURTHER ADIEU, click the link to read my impressions on Halo 4!

Podtacular 299.2: Halo 4 Comic Con
Download
This past week was Comic Con and we got even more goodies about the game and the fiction. While we haven’t had the time to review every piece of video footage from Comic Con, we want to at least touch on some of the basics. The Special Halo 4 Xbox 360 was announced and showed off at the Campaign and Multiplayer panel. It looks a lot better than the Reach one and I’ve already pre-ordered it. Before Comic Con, we had a massive influx of Behind the Scenes videos and interviews from the set of Forward Unto Dawn. Enjoy

ONI patches, a FUD poster, and a cool camo bag – how can you go wrong? (Sorry – for shipping reasons, this one’s US-only.) Update: Turns out mastrbiggy’s leaving sooner than expected – this coming Monday, in fact. So the signup period has been drastically shortened – doors close on Friday (two days from now). If you want in, ADD YOUR NAME NOW!(Louis Wu 21:26:11 UTC)

Breaking In (and watching movies)
Ryan Cooper is an engineer who makes sure network code works – go read the latest Breaking In article at Bungie.net to see how he got there, and why he loves his job. (While you’re there, check out a little piece about a private movie screening that took place in the Bungie offices recently…)(Louis Wu 20:44:45 UTC)

One Actress, Two Parts
Postmortem noticed an interesting thing – Ayelet Zurer, who plays Major Mehaffey in Forward Unto Dawn, seems to have also played a part in the ‘Remember Reach’ commercials released in the summer of 2010 to promote the upcoming Halo: Reach. (The character in the commercial was never named, but it’s really, really unlikely that there’s supposed to be a tie-in; after all, the two in-universe events are decades apart. Still, it’s a fascinating overlap!)(Louis Wu 19:00:00 UTC)

WhatCulture posted an article entitled ‘Halo 4: 10 Much Needed Improvements On Reach‘. Be aware – it’s not a summary of what’s actually coming, it’s more of a wishlist (and a pretty odd one, at that!).(Louis Wu 18:48:06 UTC)
