We’ve run a pumpkin-carving contest for 7 of the past 8 years… and we’ve always let the fans decide which pumpkins win prizes. This year, the turnout is low – way low. Not sure if that’s due to the fact that we skipped last year, or if folks just don’t have time to look through a few dozen pumpkins, or what… but the prize pool this year is huge, and I’d be saddened if we didn’t take full advantage of the Halo community in figuring out how to distribute it. Please vote!(Louis Wu 20:50:11 UTC)

The very first production copy of Halo 4
We got an email from Chris W, asking us whether the metal numbers on the outside of Halo 4’s Limited Edition boxes were actually indicative of anything… because his box had ‘000001’ on it. (Picture here.) We weren’t sure, so we asked 343, and they said this:“While we can’t speculate on value, we can share that number tells you that you got an item on a limited run and what number it was when it came off the assembly line.”
Are you jealous yet?(Louis Wu 17:47:02 UTC)

Halotracker’s Halo 4 Weekly Montage 1: Infinity Slayer
HT Edge submitted Halotracker’s first Halo 4 Weekly Montage to Halo Waypoint – some great Infinity Slayer gameplay! Black Powder Music pays tribute to Halo
8 years ago, we heard from Tony Albert, also known as Black Powder Legend – at that time, he told us about a Halo-inspired tune he’d created. Yesterday, we heard from him again – turns out 3 of the songs on his recently released album (including ‘I Always Win‘) are Halo-inspired. Go listen to PWN3D! (with an intro by Fireb0rn, a name that might be familiar to long-time readers here) and Wasted or Spent (a slower ballad) – or swing by the band’s Facebook page to sample all the songs! Awesome to see Halo inspiring new music!(Louis Wu 17:25:08 UTC)
