Beatin’ up on SpOps
IGN’s pretty down on Halo 4’s Spartan Ops – they’ve been going through the missions in video format (Episode 1 | Episode 2 | Episode 3), and yesterday they used it as an object lesson for what NOT to take from television. (Thanks, Avateur.) Ouch!(Louis Wu 19:22:02 UTC)

Cortana – A Fan-made Halo 4 Wallpaper

From Beorn:Rise and shine, it’s wallpaper time (again)! I was watching the “A Hero Awakens” video and was fascinated by some of the new design elements on Cortana’s skin in Halo 4, especially the artwork on her spine and shoulder blades. Now, I’ve admittedly been a bit apprehensive about the new angular, mechanical aesthetic introduced with Halo 4, and while the above definitely fits into that category, I saw that clip and thought, “I have to make a wallpaper based on her design!” So, here we are; I hope somebody enjoys this one as much as I do! Comments and constructive feedback are always appreciated.

More Early Reveals For Bungie’s Destiny
Leaks seem to be de rigeur for Bungie’s new game, codenamed and possibly titled Destiny. First, court documents relating to legal disputes involving new publisher Activision revealed some of the general parameters of the game and the intended products, platforms and publishing schedules.
Now, apparently a third party employee forgot a flash drive at a restaurant, and supplied the gaming press with a few more documents and a few pieces of what appears to be concept art. In response, Bungie appeared to acknowledge the leak as legitimate, and replied with a bit of concept art of their own.
Since the leaked images have all been watermarked from hell to breakfast so that sites like IGN can stop other sites from stealing their “found footage” so to speak, I’m only going to take a close look at the shot Bungie actually wanted us to see, as well as the text quoted by some of the leak stories, and only describe the other images to try and back up some interpretation of the text or the official image. If you really need to see those other images, I’m sure the Internet will find a way to accede to your wishes.
Between the official image and the quoted portions of the text, it’s possible to build up a few tentative ideas about what to expect from Destiny, and the kinds of ideas and themes the new game might share with past Bungie works.

How to lose by dominating
Not sure why you’d want to highlight this video… but CruelLEGACEY pointed us towards a 10-minute gameplay vid on Ragnarok – total mantis domination, but they still lost… because the gametype wasn’t Slayer, it was CTF (and the other team actually PLAYED the objective). If you’re looking for ways to pad your K/D – this video has useful info. If you want to see some great CTF gameplay… go elsewhere.(Louis Wu 20:20:45 UTC)

A UNSC Raptor on the Horizon?
According to Xbox360Achievements.org, it looks like the next DLC pack for Forza Horizon will include the “Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Halo Edition”, which is said to feature a custom livery designed by 343 Industries. While it’s still not the Warthog us combo Halo & Forza fans have been hoping for, it’s still pretty cool!(GrimBrother One 19:30:08 UTC)

Master Chief and Cortana – Halo 4 Fan Art

From shadow-of-insanity:
This was VERY experimental and one of the most time consuming things I’ve done so far. One of those things you start doing months ago and every so often go back to do a bit more. I was really happy with the initial line art, not sure I pulled off the coloring on this, though. I tried to get the MJOLNIR armor as precise as possible, so hopefully I did it at least some justice. Hope you like it!

Destiny Awaits, and is Looking Mighty Fine
So the biggest news around these parts (specifically the “B” in HBO) was yesterday’s early (and unintended) arrival of some fresh and juicy information on Bungie’s upcoming opus, Destiny. News came from a few different sources, including Kotaku and IGN, that show both early concept art as well as some story details. Bungie themselves actually responded in a small but eloquent way, and info should be still considered “early” at the very least until we hear more word straight from them. Either way, the tidbits that trickled out were certainly appetite-whetting. Go and see for yourself!(GrimBrother One 16:13:35 UTC)
