I’ve set the first sixteen images of Destiny concept art to the Destiny music track, “Eighth” by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori to create a Destiny Concept Art Slideshow. More more information about each image, check the Destiny Concept Art album.
The FAQ section has been reopened with an emphasis on Bungie’s new IP, Destiny. If you have a question to ask, submit it!
The movies section has been revised to clean out bitrot; old videos were transcoded from DivX and other older codec and container combinations to H.264 MP4 files. Where this could not be done, YouTube videos were substituted. A number of other videos recently added to YouTube by Bungie and others have been added, specifically for Marathon and Halo. All videos should now play fine in the browser, defaulting to Flash with a fallback to HTML5 for those who do not have flash installed.
The site should present a minimal theme to mobile devices such as phones and tables, removing most of the blocks along the top, bottom, and sides of the site, presenting only the main menu in the form of a button at the top right. The movie player is compatible with iOS devices.
IGN’s feature looks at the newly released concept art from Bungie’s Destiny.
A quick round-up of good Destiny coverage:
IGN: A Land of Hope and Dreams, Quick FAQ.
Penny Arcade Report: Destiny is always online, social, could be the future of shooters
The Escapist: The Words of Destiny
Polygon has now done a follow-up on their earlier piece about Destiny. In Bungie’s new game, humanity apparently aren’t yet galaxy-roaming colonists, and the action seems centered on our own solar system.
Added a new Destiny Concept Art gallery. Many, if not all, of these images were also included in the ViDoc, but these images are direct from Bungie.net and of higher quality.
I’ve added an image album of screen captures from the Pathways Out Of Darkness ViDoc. Comments to come soon.
Bungie’s first ViDoc about its new game, Destiny. The title harkens back to Bungie’s pre-marathon history…
Looks like someone at IGN in Spain has broken embargo early, perhaps getting the time wrong. Several images that appear to be concept art have leaked.
One hour and 21 minutes to go. IGN will start its coverage of Bungie’s reveal at 09:30 PST. On Twitter be sure to follow @Bungie and check the hashtag #Destiny.
With the Alpha Lupi ARG now concluded and mere hours to wait before Bungie’s expected Destiny reveal at 09:30 today PST, Bungie has published all the ARG-related images, including each day’s individual image, a combined image of all the messages for the week, a desktop picture, and an MP3 file featuring music by Marty O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori for the new game. The track is called Eighth.
I’ve created an album for the alpha lupi images, as well as a local copy of the MP3 of Eighth.
Anyone want to take a stab at transcribing it?
Thanks, Dust Storm.(mastrbiggy 11:49:05 UTC)
