I bet her feet are gonna hurt again.
The Halo Bulletin went live last night (as it usually does on Wednesday nights) – and as you might expect, given the proximity of SDCC, it focuses on stuff you’ll be able to see at San Diego Comic Con this weekend. (This includes some really exclusive, limited-edition collectible pins that will be distributed at the event.) There’s also a bunch of stuff about the Halo 4 Global Championship, which is deep in qualifiers right now. This includes info about new playlists going live next week. Go give it a read! As always, it’s available in a lighter version in our Halo Bulletin Archive, as well. (Louis Wu 16:52:29 UTC)

Warthog Chase
A Forge With Pete we’ve never highlighted (because I hadn’t noticed it until pete_the_duck mentioned it this morning) discusses a gametype he created called ‘Warthog Chase’. I got a chance to play this last night… and I gotta say, it’s a heckuva lot of fun. It’s a Hill game – but the hill is centered on a Warthog. Every 30 seconds, the hill moves to a NEW Warthog. If you happen to be in the Warthog that has the hill, you get points… unless other hogs are near you. You can’t kill each other (well, you CAN drive off the map, but you can’t run people over, you can’t destroy warthogs, etc), so it’s all about getting close to the hill (if you’re not it) or away from everyone else (if you are). Simple – and really fun. Try it out! (Map variant is here, gametype is here.) And thanks to Mid7night for reminding me to mention it!(Louis Wu 16:44:45 UTC)

PGCR 170
Robowski sent word that Post Game Carnage Report Episode 170 has an interview with ReconTeamSierra, the pair of Brits who release gameplay with commentary periodically. (It’s got plenty of other stuff too – there’s an interesting discussion about The Pit, and a new game called – oh, never mind, not going to front-page that.) Go listen!(Louis Wu 16:38:23 UTC)

Spartan Assault – launching… soon
Intriguing – as Polygon noticed, Spartan Assault (which was due to launch today on Windows 8 phones from Verizon) no longer has release date information on the Halo Waypoint website. (‘July 18’ has changed to ‘July 2013’.) It’s coming… it’s just not clear when. Update: Looks like it’s today, after all.(Louis Wu 16:30:12 UTC)

Halo at VGL – on the web
You may have already seen this news on DBO (or elsewhere) – but it’s Halo-related, too, so we’re posting it here. Video Games Live is planning on streaming its San Diego Comic Con concert on Twitch.TV – and Marty O’Donnell and Mike Salvatori will be guest conductors at 7:30! Destiny and Halo are both on the ticket. Be sure to set some time aside on July 20!(Louis Wu 21:25:50 UTC)

Episode 381 is all about RTX itself – he calls it ‘RTXtravaganza’. Episode 382 goes through the Bundle of Champions. Go listen to both! (Louis Wu 21:09:31 UTC)

Waypoint Weekly Test Nights: 7.17.13
From AgentPaperCraft:
Hello, Waypoint goers! With the addition of community-made content into Matchmaking, custom maps and game types have become an integral part of Halo’s Multiplayer. Forgers and game type creators often work hours, days and even months on their content before it’s considered for Matchmaking, and it’s usually the lack of having a ready player-base to test their maps that it takes so long. So I offer an option to our Forgers, a place to bring your maps and game types to have them tested and reviewed by a group of the top Forgers around. You’ll receive top-notch forging tips and tricks to wow your players, improve map spawn and flow, provide a better map experience and get your name out there. You’ll also get to work directly with the Community Cartographers, a select group of community Forge enthusiasts who work with 343 Industries in the search of top-quality content for Matchmaking consideration. Every Wednesday night at 6PM ET, get an invite by sending “AgentPaperCraft” a message over Xbox LIVE, or leave a comment in the Test Night Thread.
Hope to see you there!
