Halo 3 Beta Only Inside Pre-Ordered Copies of Crackdown?
The following information was provided by one Gamestop manager in Oceanside, California. I have no evidence to suggest it applies to every game retailer in the US, but it is conceivable that it might.
I’m one of the losers who had to purchase Crackdown to get in on the Halo 3 Beta. Not taking any chances, I pre-ordered my copy. Today I went to pick it up when my local Gamestop opened at 10 AM. After getting my copy I asked the manager, whom I have talked with before and appears to really enjoy discussing video game retailing, how many copies of Crackdown she had for general sale that included the Halo 3 Beta. Zero.
She said that usually she’ll pre-order a certain number and she’ll receive that number plus another random amount for general sale. Not so this time. She received the exact number of copies with the Beta that she pre-ordered, and all the extras did not include the Beta. She had Beta/Non-Beta versions divided into stacks behind the counter. She said many people had already called and been disappointed to find out that they were out of luck without a pre-order.
Looks like the H3 Beta might not be as easy to obtain as we first thought via purchasing Crackdown. Then again, perhaps it’s an isolated incident. Take the information for what it’s worth.

TSquared Looks Down the Road
Over at MLGPro.com, the front-page vid is a focus on Tom ‘TSquared’ Taylor – it’s not a typical MLG vid, there’s no gameplay with commentary, or the like… it’s an interview with TSquared discussing what got him into this in the first place, and where it’s bringing him. Interesting watch! Thanks, 3Suns.(Louis Wu 17:35:27 UTC)
