Panoply of Panoramas
We got a bunch of new panoramas yesterday: Veegie sent us four (Construct | Campaign First Mission | Last Resort | Campaign Seventh Mission), and Dundundles sent us one (Phantom Explodes). They’re all pretty big (they range from half a meg to a meg and a half) – but they’re all gorgeous. (Louis Wu 11:16:45 UTC)

video: Halo 3 skull guide by Trigger
—
by
A long video, but I think a good one. I made this video. It’s how to get ALL the skulls in Halo 3. IMO the music is great, and it’s clear as to where each skull is and how to get to their locations. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it. Right now only QT and Flash is available, but WMV is coming soon.

Fun Story, Fun Game
—
by
The latest episode of Major Nelson‘s podcast/blogcast is on the Halo 3 launch. The Major is nice enough to remain spoiler-free, but he says that Halo 3 is a fun game and a fun story– in case you needed any more reasons to get it. As usual, the blog entry for the audio show contains links to sites he mentions.

The Master Chief’s Waterloo
—
by
Stuntmutt attended the Halo 3 launch party in Waterloo and walked away with a free copy of Halo 3, which he immediately went home and played, uncharacteristically eschewing an open bar.
I went home and finished the fight (going to work the following day after just two hours of sleep). I dashed through on Normal just to see how the story ended and I loved it. I’m now going back through on Heroic and it’s even better. Next week, I’ll make a start on Legendary. And hopefully, I’ll get a chance to play a little multiplayer too.
You have been warned: Stunt starts playing multiplayer next week, so get those rocket-dodging muscles in shape. That advice, of course is for his teammates.
If that’s not enough One One Se7en goodness for you, there’s a passel of guest strips up on the blog, too.

Five Stars From Stuff
—
by
Stuff.co.nz calls Halo 3 a masterful conclusion but does, of course, have to add some obligatory, if odd, caveats:
Halo 3 isn’t perfect. It’s obvious more of the scenarios this time have been designed for their potential for online play rather than to advance the story.
Reviewer Tom Cardy gave the game five stars out of five.

What’s New at Podtacular: Events
—
by

This is the first in a series of posts talking about how Podtacular is stepping up to the plate for Halo 3. In the heyday of Halo 2 we had plenty of regular events for people to join in with. It’s time to bring that back with a vengeance! Here’s some of the events being worked on right now:
- Godtacular Bible Study – hosted by Chuckie J. Chuckie leads studies in Halo 3 lobbies now. They’re really good for Christians trying to grown in their faith or for people that want to check out what Christianity is all about.
- Custom Saturdays – hosted by Sqweryl. These will be regular events to show off some cool customs people have come up with, have a great time playing, and meet some new friends. Coming soon!
- Podtacular Marines – hosted by Hazard. Play with friends at Podtacular competitively in matchmaking or meet new ones while kicking butt!
- MLG Crew – hosted by Kiaffex. Once MLG rules are solidified for Halo 3, this group will be playing MLG rules games for ultimate competitive play without the random matchmaking encounters. Coming soon!
That’s just the start, there’s more on the way that aren’t solidified yet. Got an idea for a one-time or regular event you want to run at Podtacular? You can do it, it’s not that hard. Here’s some tips on how to get one rolling. So whether you want to start an event or join in on one, be sure to check these out when the forums reopen shortly. I’ll update this post with links to these and other events when available.
