Sorahn wrote a script to power Haloscreenshots.net; you enter your gamertag and it pulls down all your screenshots from Bungie.net. For the next step, it assembles those images into a mosaic composed from the submitted images. The first mosaic is up now, check it out!

Game Makers – Halo
QuickTactical noticed an interview with Chris Barrett and Joe Tung from MLG Vegas last week – it’s a little hard to find. The link he gives is the same one MSN gives me – but it doesn’t get you there. Do a search for ‘Game Makers’ on that page, though, and you should find a vid called ‘Game Makers: Halo’. That’s the one you want.(Louis Wu 22:11:57 UTC)

Download | Shownotes
It’s Sunday which means it’s time for another shiny new episode of the Podtacular podcast. This week our guest host is Killazilla, head of the Review Frenzy feature here at Podtacular. Review Frenzy’s talented team of writers review all the hot new games to give you the heads up on what’s good and what suxorz. Anyway, this week is a huge verbal fileshare of awesome customs and forge edits from the community. We also talk about important topics like if Mr. T were gay, being raised by a family of yetis, and cacti that grow steaks. BIG thanks to Rodsmack10K at XBL10Kclub.com for sending me the infamous freestyle halo 3 beatbox/chant from the Seattle launch event. Check it out in the outtakes! This week’s winner for coolest screenshot goes to Face Head. If you want your screenshot on the cover of Podtacular for thousands to see, be sure to submit yours! It also might make it to the front page of podtacular.com.

Kitt talks Halo 3
Kitt, a Fragdoll who lives in the UK, discussed Halo 3 for about 7 minutes on this videoblog. She invented a word I like quite a lot – ‘intrepidation’. I’m gonna be looking for places to use that one. Beyond that, she has some interesting things to say about the game. Stay away from her when she’s got a sword… thanks, Ross Mills.(Louis Wu 21:09:33 UTC)

Another Halo Comic Strip
ZZoMBiE13 has been around the Halo community for quite a while; we first heard from him in 2003, when he started submitting Halo artwork. More recently, he’s been filling in for Stuntmutt on some sanctioned One One Se7en guest spots. He’s done enough of these, actually, that we’ve taken him on as a new comic creator – Go check out Another Halo Comic Strip. (There are already five strips up on the page; the first is a welcome piece, and the others are all migrated over here from his DeviantART page. He’ll be adding new ones here as the inspiration hits him.) If the layout seems familiar… it should. We simply repurposed the design we built for Halo Heads, using ZZoMBiE13’s own graphics. Hey, if it works, why mess with it?(Louis Wu 12:26:31 UTC)

Telerunning
Maluu has been around the Halo jumping scene since the early days of Halo 2 – he and friends are back now with ‘Telerunning’, using teleporters to increase jumping speeds. Go check out some of their Forged maps and videos in Cow’s forum post. Looks like fun!(Louis Wu 12:08:02 UTC)

3 more multiplayer overviews
Continuing the ‘out of multiplayer map’ series, Cow found a guy who got out of Narrows, The Pit, and Snowbound. That brings the total of the documented maps to 8 – only High Ground, Guardian, and Isolation remain.(Louis Wu 12:04:33 UTC)

GoNaise – it’s not just for breakfast any more
Wolverine Monkey pointed out an article on Moetaku (a parody blog – see if you can guess who they’re modeled after) about ‘Mayo 3: Finish the Sandwich’. Oddness at its finest. (There’s no way to link to the story directly; scroll down when you get to the page.)(Louis Wu 11:58:52 UTC)

Spartan Mk V at Cosplay.com
PlasmaFire found a cosplayer with a Master Chief outfit built of fiberglass-reinforced cardboard. There are four pages of pictures at the Photobucket link, showing lots of stages of development. Great work!(Louis Wu 11:50:46 UTC)

It’s funny… AND educational.
Glasser created a machinima project for school. He looked at economic problems for farmers in the 1800s… using the Halo 3 engine. Some of it works wonderfully. Some of it is a stretch. All of it got him credit.(Louis Wu 11:46:09 UTC)

Section 3, Issue #7: Invasion part 1
V10L3N7 JAY let us know that Section 3 has been updated with Issue #7 – the invasion has begun. Nice work!(Louis Wu 11:42:05 UTC)

Watching battles from afar
Omega found a way to get out of most campaign maps from saved films (no glitching, just finding holes in the outer walls). He’s posted a bunch of pics. Coolness!(Louis Wu 11:37:51 UTC)

Outpost: Isil… wait, what?
Treeskunk Productions is back, with an announcement about Outpost: Isil, a new series that updates the long-running Outpost machinima to the Halo 3 engine. There’s an announcement trailer up now, along with wallpapers and avatars. (Louis Wu 11:35:38 UTC)

When work becomes play
Inside Bay Area has an article about Brett ‘Nade’ Leonard, a pro Halo gamer that plays for The Agency. Most articles about gamers making money focus on the dozen or so that have quarter-million-dollar contracts – but this article points out that there are other players that are making decent money without being in that tippy-top tier. (It also talks about the rise of pro leagues, a sign that the sport is coming of age.) Interesting read!(Louis Wu 11:33:29 UTC)

Calling All Screenshots
sorahn is trying to make a huge screenshot collage – and he needs screenshots. To that end, he’s written a small script that will scrape screenshots from Bungie.net RSS feeds – but he needs gamertags to seed the system with. If you got some cool pics, add your gamertag to the list. (Once he’s got enough images, he’ll turn this off, so depending on when you read this, you may find that the system is closed.) Side bonus – you can use the page to easily view all the screens from a submitted gamertag, without having to jump through the Javascript hoops at Bungie.net.(Louis Wu 11:30:26 UTC)

Next up: Counterpoint from Balaho
Very cool – a current resident of Mombasa looks at Bungie’s imaginings of what his city will become in 500 years; it’s a fun read. Thanks, Anton P. Nym.(Louis Wu 22:12:55 UTC)

Contact Harvest – out for some but not all
Joe Staten clarified the release date issue about Contact Harvest; it was originally supposed to be out on October 14, but the date slipped two weeks because of Halo 3. (If you visit the TOR site, you’ll see that both dates are listed on the CH press release page.) As Joe says, you might be able to find the book at some retailers a bit early – but October 30 is still the official release date.(Louis Wu 21:55:03 UTC)
