Myself and some guys over at Bungie.net have been kicking around this idea of starting up a monthly community newsletter. Basically it will contain lots of content from the community itself (like fan art, fanfiction…) Bungie and gaming news etc: Not everything is finalized yet but we are hard at work in an attempt to create a good newsletter that, hopefully, people will enjoy.

But we need content for the newsletter and thats where the community (you guys!) come in. So if you want to share your artwork with the rest of us please send it to maximumfear@gmail.com We’ll take any form of art as long as it is Bungie related. The best submissions every month will be published in the newsletter along with the other content such as articles and interviews, and all submissions will be displayed online.

As many of you are aware, with our Halo 2 clan activity at an all-time low, we’ve been working on something new for Halo 3 clans. Since the Fall dashboard update did not introduce any clan support as was rumored a while back, we’ve had to get a little inventive to get things rolling again.

Using the new “Friends of Friends” feature, everyone will now have a broader network that can connect everyone via other games and interests. Think of it as an extended friends list, where you can find other gamers that might also be a part of the same or similar communities. While this works for a variety of uses to individual gamers, we’re going to use this take this one step further and begin building our Halo 3 clans around it.

The Code
First off, let’s be clear on what it takes to be a member of the Podtacular clans—the Podtacular Code of Honor. These guidelines are things that most of us have stood by and may have gone unsaid, but as we expect new members to come into our community, it’s best to set these standards right now.

The Clans
Next, we’d like to introduce to you all the Official Podtacular Clans as follows:

Podtacular Rec – Podtacular Recreational Group

Podtacular Pros – Podtacular Pro and Hardcore Group

Podtacular AStr – Podtacular All Stars

How it works
The clans will be managed as separate Xbox Live gamertags, which will be used as a connector to bring clanmates together across the service. To apply for clan membership, you’ll need to fill out a simple form telling us about yourself. Then, after overlord review and approval, you’ll receive a friend request. Do NOT send friend requests to these gamertags, because they will be automatically rejected.
