Back in July, we pointed out It’s a Halo BETA, a teaser for a full-length Halo parody in Flash. The creator, AlmightyHans, has released the first of four parts over at Newgrounds. (R-rated for situations, I guess.) Thanks, swearingmonk.(Louis Wu 16:27:19 UTC)

COD4 Patch Coming in December. Details Announced.
My favorite XBL multiplayer title is getting a much needed patch, and fourzerotwo has announced many of the details on his blog here.
Highlights from my perspective:
-Fixed “corrupt create-a-class data” so Disavowed can play online with us
-More bandwidth required to host Ground War games
-Showdown, Bloc, Ambush, and Pipeline have been added to almost all of the playlists that they were excluded from
-Team Hardcore is now split into Hardcore Death Match and Hardcore Search and Destroy
-Added kill cam to everything (bombs, claymores, etc)
-Added host migration so the game doesn’t end if the host leavesWhat’s not included that should be:
-XBL style party system for LAN environment
-Removing Shipment from Domination and Headquarters gametypes

Forge Artwork, Revisited
Interesting. I saw a bunch of articles on creating artwork in Halo 3 come through my Google News Alerts in the last couple of days, but said “oh, that’s just the story we mentioned a week or two ago,” and moved on. (Yes, I talk to myself in hyperlinks.) Turns out I was wrong; Wired Magazine has done a couple of pieces on Brock Davis (the artist) – there’s a step-by-step walkthrough on how the image was created, and an interview with the artist. Thanks to Tex for keeping me honest.(Louis Wu 19:48:26 UTC)

Halo 3 Marble Maze
Hawty McBloggy has highlighted a pretty cool video showing off someone using the new soccer ball and Foundry to create a marble maze. When I was a kid, Creative Playthings sold wooden pieces for this, in a product known as Multiway Rollaway. I’ve seen hundreds of similar products through the years, but that one was always my favorite, and I spent dozens (hundreds?) of hours building palaces… and now I get to see it again, recreated in Halo 3. Thanks, HM! (And thanks, Mus65tang, for building it!)(Louis Wu 19:23:12 UTC)

Gameplay vids on DLC maps, from G4
G4TV has put up videos of gameplay on all three Heroic DLC maps, so you can see what you’re getting, if you haven’t bought them yet. (Also, these might help if you’re looking for weapons spawns or nice niches.) Check out Foundry, Rat’s Nest, and Standoff.(Louis Wu 19:17:15 UTC)

Forge Creations – Store ’em at R.net!
We’re still getting a bunch of requests to highlight Forge creations; as we mentioned a couple of days ago, Rampancy.net has created a great tool for keeping track of these. There are WAY more maps in our forums and our email boxes than in R.net’s database, so I can only assume that people missed the announcement. Therefore, we’ve repurposed our ‘In the Spotlight’ front-page block (usually reserved for HBO-specific resources) to highlight exactly that database; it’s a great solution, and you should use it.(Louis Wu 19:04:33 UTC)

Last season, on Halo…
Narcogen, over at Rampancy.net, took umbrage with a reporter who claimed that a “game should be a self-contained and comprehensible artistic work.” Go read what he has to say about that.(Louis Wu 18:54:16 UTC)
