Dr. Becker – the Anti-Cola
The latest Bungie Podcast was released Tuesday afternoon – 45 minutes of Bungie goodness. Go listen! Jay Weinland discusses the trials and tribulations of sound design (and how it’s evolved over the Halo games), and lots of little tidbits are dropped. Not sure I understand the three minutes of silence at the end, though…)(Louis Wu 15:49:16 UTC)

Teaching Old Publishers New Tricks
The GameWit blog at the Press Democrat (Santa Rosa, CA) thinks that the amicable separation of Bungie and Microsoft might be a good object lesson for Activision in its current conflict with the “hopes to be something other than just the Call of Duty” developer Infinity Ward, which was incidentally formed by developers jumping ship from the developers of Medal of Honor.

AH: Scrap Metal Achievement Race!
Hey guys, how are you doing today? Good? Great.
Geoff and I realized we hadn’t done anything with the races in a while, so we figured, why not have a Scrap Metal achievement race?
Here’s the fun part, you get the chance to kick our asses. We’re going to open this race up to the first 30 people in the comments who write “I will beat Geoff and Jack into SCRAP!” and then their gamertag.
If you do not include those things in your comment, or you edit your comment, you will not be in the race. Also, there is no prize for winning, just the knowledge that you crushed the souls of Geoff and Jack. So, that is kind of like a prize, right?
The race begins as soon as we fill the 30 spots, and the game is released. Keep checking here for updates on how thing are going!

T-Shirt Design Contest
Okay, here’s the deal everyone. We’re short on new stuff in the store, which means new stuff needs to be designed.
Since we’re all about the community, and because we’re all to busy being grown-ups we’re thinking of letting you guys do it.
If we were to hold a T-Shirt design contest with potential prizes and whatnot, who here would be interested in participating?
If you are interested in participating head on down to the FORUM TOPIC

Halo: Reach Preview from G4
G4TV has put up a ‘Halo: Reach Preview‘ – it’s footage from Bungie’s ViDocs, mixed with interview footage of Marcus Lehto recorded at X10; if you’ve been voraciously consuming every tidbit on Reach as it comes out, there’s nothing new here, but if you’re not paying close attention, it’s a nice 2 minute summary. Thanks to NeoGAF’s NeoGIF for the heads-up.(Louis Wu 21:29:39 UTC)

AH: Get your face in Dead Space 2

If you’ve ever thought that dismemberment in Dead Space could be done better, now’s your chance to prove it. Visceral Games is looking for text, image and video submissions that detail an original melee kill delivered by Isaac Clarke, that may potentially be used in Dead Space 2!
Head to the Dead Space contest page for more information and to submit your work. The contest is open until the 26th of March, after that the submissions will enter a judging phase where ten finalists will be chosen. The winner from those finalists will be chosen by a two week public vote, the nine runner s up will have their names dropped into the game.
The winner, however, will not only have their melee attack included in Dead Space 2, but their face will be on a character that will be violently murdered, though the specifics of how haven’t been given away.On a side note…
Achievement Challenge 11 sign ups have recently opened, head over to the Achievement Challenges group for more details.
