Weird – Wired Magazine has put up a Wired Science story about the Plum Island Animal Disease Center (a facility on a tiny island at the end of Long Island, in New York) – and the background music during the entire piece is ‘Covenant Dance’, from the original Halo soundtrack. Taco Power points out that Bizarre Magazine has rated Halo among the Top 5 Scary Games (due, in large part, to a particularly scary level in the first game). Some nice display of skills, but also lots of funny stuff; grenades not doing what was expected of them, vehicles falling out of the sky, etc. There’s a moment, about a minute and a half in, where I was flabbergasted. pete_the_duck stopped in to mention that he wrote up a pair of neutral-bomb Assault games he and friends played on LIVE a couple of weeks ago. There is nothing really special about the pair, other than that they were lots of fun for the (winning) team that played – but the writeup is great, and shows off Halo 3’s “omg did you see that?” rewatchability. The finale for Rooster Teeth’s Red vs Blue: Reconstruction is now available for all to watch – and it’s a doozy. Nearly ten minutes long, it wraps up almost all loose ends in the series… almost. Effects are really well-done… if you’re not paying close attention, you won’t even realize some of them are effects. (That’s a good thing.)
