Quick Draw
Decadence Night showed us his awesome Forge map called High Noon a couple weeks back. Now, he’s brought us the updated version. The original was outstanding, and it should only be better now… You can also stop by his post at Forgehub and check it out!(GrimBrother One 21:11:05 UTC)

Spartans… Squared.
Kotaku gives us a closer look at the new Reach figures from Square Enix. Pretty sweet looking! I think I need to make room on my shelf next to the Legendary statue…(GrimBrother One 20:47:39 UTC)

Site Administrivia
Just a quick word – I’m gone for the next four days, so any mail sent to my personal address will languish unread until Sunday night. If you have Halo news, send it to halo@bungie.org. Also, this means I will be gone for the ending of the submission period of the Headshot Heard ‘Round The World contest. Don’t worry – any entries sent in before 9pm PST tomorrow will qualify – and we’ll post a page full of finalists sometime next week (after HBO and KontrolFreek admins have a chance to pare down the list a bit). Enjoy your weekend – and be nice to Grim!(Louis Wu 18:42:16 UTC)

I need a turntable.
Kotaku has a little piece on a random meeting in DJ Hero… by a pair of Spartans. Heh. Thanks, JDQuackers.(Louis Wu 18:29:14 UTC)

Born to Run
Brian Gilmore let us know that Geekscape’s Teabag Prevention Presents has a new guide for you – this one focuses on the Sprint armor ability. You might think sprinting is pretty basic stuff – but there are times to use it, and times to back off. And TPP is here to help you decide which is which. Check it!(Louis Wu 14:15:10 UTC)

Penny Arcade print raffled off for charity
2old2play’s DSmooth sent word that they’d received a signed print of the Penny Arcade ‘Dotage‘ strip (it revolves around older gamers…) – they’re raffling it off for Child’s Play. Awesome beans! Go visit their site for full details, including how you can get in on the action.(Louis Wu 14:04:48 UTC)

A Fistful of Arrows, Pages 6-9
Leviathan is back with several more pages of his ‘A Fistful of Arrows’ graphic novelette – I don’t know if I have the superlatives needed to fully express how cool this is. Pages 6-7 (plus a recap of p5) are here, pages 8-9 are here. If you process only one newspost this morning – make it this one. (Louis Wu 12:21:26 UTC)

Get off my ring!
Chris Pollit is a character artist who decided to take on the challenge of visualizing Master Chief in his late 50s (well, that’s silly, he’s ALREADY in his 40s by the time Halo plays out – but let’s say “older”) – he did an amazing job. If you scroll down to the ‘Comicon Challenge 2010’ section of his site, you’ll see a series of pictures which expand on that shot at the top. Thanks to onebitrocket, who found this at OXM UK.(Louis Wu 12:20:17 UTC)

Oni for Cheap
Somewhat off-topic – but pretty cool for Bungie fans; Ze Moose pointed out a place where you can buy Oni (Bungie’s anime shooter/fighter, not the shadowy UNSC spy wing) for Windows for $5, shipped. Nice!(Louis Wu 12:19:12 UTC)

Reach Media Kit for Sale
This one’s only got a few hours left – but someone is selling a Reach Media Review Kit on eBay. Comes with a Controller, the game, a copy of the Fall of Reach reissue, and a copy of Halo: Overture, a rare history/art book. Current price is $200, but the auction ends this afternoon. Thanks, rolandk73.(Louis Wu 12:18:26 UTC)

Rare Reach Backpack for Sale
Colin Auxier won a Halo: Reach backpack during a competition at his local Gamestop – he isn’t going to use it, so it’s up on eBay now. Buy It Now price is $70 – go grab it if you want it! (Looks like the same kind of bag as Bungie’s selling for $90, but with a different graphic. These are definitely rare.) (Louis Wu 12:16:29 UTC)
