Digging out from under
This newspost is dated the 5th because that’s when most of the work was done – but it’s being written on the 6th. The server hosting HBO’s database (and a boatlod of other stuff) was attacked, and wiped clean. As far as I can tell, the only goal was to do damage; there was no specific target. (I’m pretty sure at this point that the attack came from someone who found a list of exploits, and poked around servers until he found one that was vulnerable. My bad for not filling in a hole that has had a patch available for a little over a year…) Lots of things will be broken because of this – please just be patient. HBO is a hobby, for the most part, and the priority at this point is getting PAYING clients back online. Apologies to everyone expecting Halo news… we’ll do the best we can.(Louis Wu 23:59:59 UTC)

It’s Double XP weekend on Call of Duty: Black Ops, but if you’d rather play something else, we have a community achievement hunt going on:
jakxin needs the Extreme Variety bonus in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. He’s going to set up a private room for 2 or more additional players who want to get it, and hopefully finish off that achievement. Bring poison and the hidden gun if you got them.

AH: Rockstar Unlocks RDR Avatar Awards
After 18 days and over 6 billion XP earned, the Rockstar XP Challenge has officially been completed. Avatar items have been unlocked for all Red Dead Redemption players across both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE. Grabbing your avatar reward is as easy as booting into Single Player and completing a save (note you didn’t have to participate in the challenge to get the reward).
That’s right, Rockstar Games has unlocked the Avatar Awards and PlayStation Network clothing for Red Dead Redemption! All you have to do is boot up the single player. So hop on and grab your wild west gear now.
