More custom work from Kaidon – this time, it’s an Elite officer. (It’s just a repaint, not a full sculpt – but it’s still pretty cool!)(Louis Wu 18:47:46 UTC)

AH: Gears of War 3 Beta – All you need to know
The chainsaw-rrific multiplayer beta finally has an official release date, going live to the public from April 25th and will run until May 15th, giving you all plenty of time to check out the new features. Bulletstorm Epic Edition holders will get early access as promised, and will be able to enjoy the Beta from April 18th, meaning they’ll get almost a month of frag tagging fun!
Players will have a chance to try out three brand new competitive modes during the Beta, spread across four maps which include the two voted for on Facebook, Trenches and Old Town. This is your chance to shape the way the final part of the trilogy plays, but there will also be plenty of unlockables up for grabs for when you purchase the full retail version. Unlockables in the Beta include the gold retro Lancer, Cole’s Thrashball outfit, flaming Hammerburst, flaming Lancer, a flaming Gnasher shotgun, flaming Sawn-Off and even a shiny medal to say you were a Beta tester.
Not only that, but Microsoft confirmed three retail versions of the game including a Limited edition and Epic edition along with a standard version of the game. No details have been given as to what exactly will be included with each version, but more in game unlocks are definitely on the cards.
Ninja Fragger Note: All you REALLY need to know is that it’s Gears Of War 3 so it’s going to be fucking awesome!

Mythic Difficulty Guide – Lone Wolf
The final chapter of Tyrant’s Mythic Difficulty Guide for Halo: Reach is now online – and it’s definitely worth your time. Lone Wolf is a pretty special level, for a lot of reasons – and Tyrant’s treatment honors the spirit quite nicely. To Tyrant, I say – well done, sir.(Louis Wu 16:08:56 UTC)

Experimenting with the Halo Universe
Frank O’Connor told CVG that 343i’s not working on a sequel to Halo Wars right now, but if they were, it could work with Kinect. Interesting! (This showed up in my Google feed, but thanks to ElzarTheBam for starting a thread on our forum.)(Louis Wu 15:56:38 UTC)

Only one of us is wearing bulletproof armor…
TCKaos pointed out Part 4 of Modern Warfare 2 meets Metal Gear Solid, a pretty well-done live-action film that’s relevant here because of the presence of Master Chief. Nice coreography! (Louis Wu 12:25:53 UTC)

Bungie To Make An MMOAG?
Back when Halo was first announced, there were hints of a persistent, online world. Last year at GDC, Bungie’s own Joseph Staten hinted at such a thing. Now it seems like this year’s GDC presentation by David Aldridge may have tipped Bungie’s hand; the company is reportedly making a massively multiplayer action game. Since Microsoft now owns Halo and 343 Industries is shepherding it, it remains to be seen what setting this game will exist in.
Seen at HBO.
