  • AH: More Mass Effect DLC

    Hello there Guv’nors,
It would seem the chaps over at BioWare have been busy not only creating the sequel to one of the most successful Action RPG’s on the XBox 360, but they’ve been working on more content for the original title to boot.
Three achievements (“Undisputed”, “New Sheriff in Town” and “Best of the Best”) have been added to the game’s page on XBox.com, and now also on the game page here. So, although no official announcement from BioWare has been made, the rumours circulating the World Wide Web have come to fruition.

Each achievement is worth 50G bringing the total for the game to an unusual 1200G, and revolve around a place called “Pinnacle Station” which will be much like the bar/fight club from KotOR. It’ll also replace story with action, being a fight club, the focus will be shifted to combat against currently unknown enemies.
If you purchased the Platinum edition of the game, and watch the documentary “The Future of Mass Effect” on the bonus DVD, you may have already known this was coming, as Principal Lead Designer Preston Watamaniuk said during this:

“Things we’re working on right now, for the Mass Effect universe next … we had something in Mass Effect 1 that again, we weren’t able to pull off just because we didn’t have the time and we didn’t think we’d be able to do it well enough, which was a fight club or an arena. So we’re actually working on that for our next downloadable content piece and we’re hoping it’ll be really special.”

All sounds like exciting stuff, but the rumour mill is currently spinning the story that there won’t be an announcement for the release of the DLC, so the next time you hear about it will be when it becomes available on the XBL Marketplace. Either way, we’ll keep you posted.

  • RT: BlizzCon

Thanks to the cataclysmic announcements made at this year’s BlizzCon, Gus has essentially been rendered mute. I’m still on the fence about whether this is a good thing or not.

  • AH: And the Winner is…

    …ToeJam & Earl!

Remember the SEGA Genesis Poll I posted about last week? Well yesterday was the last day to vote, and it looks like the results are in. ToeJam & Earl will be the next game that SEGA brings over to XBLA.

“Whoa, but wait a minute! What happened to Earthworm Jim, I thought that was going to win for sure!” You are probably saying right now. Well it looks like from mass popularity, Gameloft will be picking it up.

So expect ToeJam & Earl AND Earthworm Jim to be appearing on the Marketplace sometime in the near future.

  • RT: Congrats to Cuxim on winning the Photo Challenge

After a heated 4 hour debate among the RT staff and Caleb, Cuxim has come out on top in the Grifball photo contest. But wait! As a consolation, 5 members will compete in a poll to be crowned The People’s Champion. Look in the comments section of this post to vote for your favorite.

Voting ends on Tuesday and will coincide with the next content challenge! Who will win The People’s Vote?

  • AH: Mass Effect DLC is here!

So you may remember last week I told you all about the new Mass Effect DLC right?
No? Well, it’s a good job I’m telling you now then!

The new DLC pack titled “Pinnacle Station” will feature a top secret Alliance space station, bringing 3 new achievements in at 50G a piece. The pack costs a mere 400 points, and players will be trading storyline for pure action as you’ll be taking part in fight rounds.

And if that wasn’t enough, new Avatar items have come up on the Marketplace so now you can kit out your Avatar with Alliance armour, N7 shirts and Normandy crew shirts. There’s even Ashley’s white armour available for you gaming chicks out there.
So, for all the details check out the Marketplace page and download today!

NB – Your character must be a Spectre to enter Pinnacle Station.
