Star Fell
FireDragon04 wrote to let us know about a machinima/CG hybrid project that’s been in the works for quite a while – it won’t be released until later this year, but a teaser poster went live today. Looks pretty nice! (Louis Wu 13:53:09 UTC)

Helljumpers Pumpkin… and shoes.
Hawty McBloggy has a very cool ODST-themed pumpkin on her front page today – go check it out! (I haven’t looked yet to see if it’s been submitted to our Guilt O’ Lantern contest… but it would be a real shame if it’s not!) While you’re over there, check out the pretty slick-looking Nike Dunk Highs that someone customized with a Master Chief… they’re expensive, but man, they look good!(Louis Wu 13:43:19 UTC)

Where would Halo be if…
The Toronto Globe and Mail have used Halo as a jumping-off spot for a discussion about gaming on the Mac, and where it might be going in the future. The article’s title is ‘What if Halo had launched on a Mac?‘ – but really, that’s pretty much the extent of the Halo content of the article. (Well, except for the humorous “I’m a Mac” parody done in the Halo engine…) Still, it’s an interesting read about the gaming landscape, and what drives companies to develop for specific markets. Thanks, Anton P. Nym.(Louis Wu 13:42:32 UTC)

Think You Know Someone
The finale of this season of Red vs Blue: Recreation is now up for sponsors on the Rooster Teeth site – it’ll be live for the public in just a couple of hours. Lots of violence… not that many answers! Looks like Recreation is not over yet! (While you’re there, you might want to check out the news post that discusses the Recreation DVD, the Rooster Teeth Shorts DVD, and the newest album from Trocadero, ‘Ghosts that Linger’, featuring lots of RvB music (along with plenty of non-RvB stuff). Finish your Christmas shopping early!)(Louis Wu 23:42:52 UTC)

Geocities.com is closing today. Gone. Zilch. Zip. Nada. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2009/10/geocities-closing.html If you do a google search like this or this or this or this, You’ll find dozens of sites that cropped up starting way back in the 90’s born out of love for Bungie’s games. I hope, though I doubt, that the owners of these sites backed up their pages somewhere! Lots of effort there (no matter how amateurish) that will disappear after today. 🙁 Ironically, yah, I know it’s been ages since anyone’s posted here. And goodness there are definitely pages that could use an update. It’s under the good…

Halo Love in Music Awards
The Hollywood Music in Media Awards & Conference is happening next month – November 19th, in Hollywood, CA. Lots of Halo content in the Video Game categories: both Stephen Rippy (Halo Wars) and Martin O’Donnell (Halo 3: ODST) are up for ‘Best Original Score’, and Marty’s also up for ‘Outstanding Music Supervision’. (These final nominations are not yet available on the HMM Awards site – I found them at Music 4 Games.) Good luck to both composers!(Louis Wu 16:02:41 UTC)
