A Reed for the Saved
So this weekend, we mentioned the latest Oboe Scores, a series of short videos by OboeCrazy wherein Halo gameplay is set to live oboe music, a combination that works WAY better than you might guess. Now that was #5 in the series – and last month, we linked to #1, #2, and #3 – astute readers will notice there’s an episode missing. #4, entitled ‘Dramatic Rescue‘, was released last week, while I was in the (internet) wilds of southern Florida… but just think, it means you get to watch it now! Hugs!
Last week, for Valentines Day, Halo Waypoint released three very cool eValentines images created by community artists. The last one on the page was from one of our favorites, Luke McKay – and interestingly enough, Luke had created what he called a ‘doodle’ the day before, which I actually liked better. We’ve posted it in our Luke McKay gallery – enjoy!(Louis Wu 01:56:52 UTC)

Community Member of the Week: AgentPaperCraft
Every Monday, we feature a community member who does one or more of the following things: routinely goes above and beyond for their fellow forum members, is a positive and active member of the community, and/or sends me mass amounts of cat pictures. This week our Community Member of the Week is AgentPaperCraft. Read a little more about him below, then hit his profile to learn about the role he plays in the Community Cartographers!Gamertag: AgentPaperCraft.
Dream job: 3D Environmental Artist for 343 Industries. (ONLY TWO MORE SEMESTERS TO GO!!!)
Hobbies: I makem somma PAPERCRAFTS!
Anything else we should know? I’m one lucky guy, persistent, handsome, smart, and full of myself. I enjoy my hobbies, which are finding great maps to suggest for matchmaking, building them, and helping others. I enjoy the good times we have here on the forums. I may not post much but I watch intently. I like vidya games and aminals, and mopeding around town.
I also run Test Night with Crafty, which is weekly event dedicated to the forgers of Waypoint as convenient means of testing content for matchmaking consideration. It is a great way to get good professional constructive feedback on your map variants and game types and will also provide you with a player base to help test your creations. Your content will be observed by a secret member who reviews and suggests maps for matchmaking. This could mean thousands may eventually battle on your creations! Please visit my Test Night thread for details about how to participate.

Reach Weekly Challenge – 2.20.12
I saw a motivational poster in a high school gym once that said “it’s not whether you win or lose; it’s how you play the game.” That’s good advice as playing can be fun and challenging, but if you want to get a big prize at the end you better get to winning games. Seventy seven games to be exact. It’s no easy task, but you can do it! This week we challenge you to:
PLAY TO WIN – 20,343cR
Win 77 games in multiplayer Matchmaking this week.
Winning is way more fun in a group, so don’t forget to stop by the forums and build your squad.

Forge World
While I don’t really agree with the negative overtones, I can’t deny that ncsuDuncan’s latest Halo parody is really slick. If I could sing, I’d record this one myself. (Though I’d probably stick with the original cadence, myself…)(Louis Wu 16:51:16 UTC)

Sack Shenanigans
Could it be that the Bungie Mail Sack will replace the Bungie Weekly Updates? Mail Sack 5.0 was released last night, just 7 days after the LAST one. (Don’t get TOO excited – the one before that was almost a month earlier.) Lots of studio details, lots of teasing – no real info about anything upcoming (which means DeeJ gets to keep his job a little longer). HBO does get a shout-out, though… so it’s a heartily-recommended read. (Louis Wu 16:14:03 UTC)
