Halo vs Predator (and a new Spartan-Man
MASSAIKUR stopped in with a link to Halo vs Predator, one of the funniest Halo live-action pieces I’ve seen in a while. You should watch it. (He also linked to Spartan-Man Episode 3 – how convenient, you can follow that story without even leaving this newspost!) (Louis Wu 22:42:05 UTC)

343 Sparkast 015 – Spartan Ops
In a shocking display of postage, 343 has posted Episode 15 of their Sparkast (just 4 days after Episode 14 – you’d think these weren’t designed to be posted twice per year or something!). This one has David Ellis and Frank O’Connor talking with Chris Haluke, Greg Murphy, and Josh Holmes about Spartan Ops. Good stuff! (If your browser doesn’t like the .xml feed I’ve linked, you can download the .mp3 directly here.) (Louis Wu 22:39:55 UTC)

SDCC Spartan Ops Footage
Sunday was a quiet day at San Diego Comic-Con, as far as Halo was concerned – but 343 DID show off some Spartan Ops. You can watch a blurry game posted at TheHaloCouncil, and a much clearer (though considerly less-well-played) game posted by AgeTemplar. (Louis Wu 22:37:03 UTC)

When you absolutely, positively need pageviews
Over at NeoGAF, Pok3R Fac3D pointed out an article from E3 at IGN – they wonder if Halo 4’s marketing is ripping off The Dark Knight Rises. Frankie sez relax.(Louis Wu 22:34:39 UTC)

Halo 4 Gameplay Panel from SDCC
Today is turning out to be busier than expected; apologies for the slow news turnaround. The big bit you shouldn’t miss is the Halo 4 Gameplay panel from SDCC, posted by Gamespot yesterday. It’s an hour long, and cram-packed with interesting bits. Some things that have been pulled out already by fans:- The new objective-specific assassinations – thanks, CaneCutter
- A very cool compilation of all the gameplay clips – thanks, sltPoison
- Some gameplay GIFs, for folks who don’t want to watch movies – again, thanks, sltPoison
More news will come later, I hope. In the meantime, enjoy your Monday!(Louis Wu 17:01:04 UTC)

Halo 4 Sample Music
This is a transcription of the Halo 4 soundtrack sample that 343 Industries released on their website a while back. The sample contains two songs (parts of two songs?) of which I transcribed the first part. The epic part. I have a PDF file of the sheet music, as well as the .mus file, and an .mp3. Enjoy =).
Also, does this song have a name?

High-quality Haven Gameplay Video
Inside Gaming seemed to get some direct feed footage (Part 1 | Part 2) from the after-hours Halo 4 event at SDCC – the gameplay leaves a bit to be desired, but the quality of the video is light-years above all of the off-center, offscreen footage we’ve seen this week. (Actually, watching the second part suggests this is offscreen footage; you can see his hand pointing at one point. Awesome setup, in that case.) Thanks, CyReN.(Louis Wu 16:56:50 UTC)

RvB: The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny
Heh – nice. CixaleaJwan took the song (and the plot) from the classic ‘The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny’ (if you’ve never seen it, you’ve missed a critical bit of internet geekery), and matched it all to clips from recent seasons of Red vs Blue. It works surprisingly well! Thanks, MissZahrah.(Louis Wu 16:55:32 UTC)

The official press release for the Halo 4 Limited Edition Console bundle can be found on Halo Waypoint (among other places). Go read it to prepare. Fake Update: looks like Waypoint might be having some trouble today – here’s the same thing at Major Nelson’s site. Lots more pictures in MN’s Flickr stream. (Louis Wu 16:54:00 UTC)

More photos (and a vid!) from SDCC
mastrbiggy, Tex, and Domino Theory spent their last day at San Diego Comic-Con taking lots of pictures, and one cool video. You can see everything they posted on our Event Coverage page. The video, showing some new objective-specific assassinations, has been turned into a 1.5mb perspective-corrected GIF by NeoGAF’s Computron – very, very cool. (It’s blurry – but hey, biggy was WAAY off-center when he filmed it in the first place.)

Frankie Interview from Gamespot Livestream
Frank O’Connor sat down with Gamespot for a pre-panel interview about Halo 4; it showed on their live feed. iPlayGamezTV was the first to put this up in archived form. Good info here! Thanks, CyReN. Update: two key questions were cut from the beginning of this video – sltPoison was kind enough to upload just those questions. For posterity, you know.(Louis Wu 21:58:10 UTC)

Tom ‘TSquared’ Taylor sat down with Frank O’Connor last night and asked a lot of questions, while Frank tried his best not to die while answering. (He was playing Halo 4 at the same time.) Great interview! Thanks, Vire.(Louis Wu 18:53:08 UTC)
