From FBWalshyFTW:
This is a speed painting video that pichdesign made for Halo’s iconic hero and protagonist, the Master Chief, taking you through the entirety of a roughly eight-hour artistic process. Enjoy!

Montage Monday
We don’t get a whole lot of montages submitted any more – but today, we’ve got three. And amazingly, they all have something interesting going for them.- Chappified stopped in with word of Episode One – The Adventure Continues. It’s a Halo 3 montage showing off trick jumping… but what makes it unique is that it’s all in standard matchmaking. It’s pretty amazing to see someone climb the outside of the Pit’s Snipe Tower while being shot! Check this out.
- CyReN posted word of a new Halo 3 Dualtage from Lethul and Formal on GAF. Fantastic gameplay (as you’d expect from these two), heavy but interesting editing… and it’s all Halo 3!
- RVideo dropped us a line about Fragtage, with gameplay by AfterFraG and editing by ATB and Barker – It’s Reach footage, and what it has going for it is some REALLY tightly-synched gameplay. If you’re not a fan of heavy editing, this one might be too much for you.
All in all, good stuff. Go watch!(Louis Wu 15:03:05 UTC)

Grunts are People Too – Returns!
If you’ve been reading HBO for a long time, you might just remember Grunts Are People Too – it was a machinima project from MOTHERSTOOTH involving your favorite mini-Covenant. Most, or all, are offline at this point… but we just heard from MOTHERSTOOTH that they’re coming back! Check out Episode 1. (Louis Wu 14:51:39 UTC)

Murder Miners
Daedalos42 pointed out Murder Miners (it’s making quite a splash at HaloGAF, as well) – it’s a new indie game from JForceGames that takes a lot of inspiration from Halo. In fact, it’s been described as “Halo meets Minecraft” – you can see a video of it in action on The Halo Council. It’s in beta right now, and costs only 240 MSPoints ($3!) – it’s cheaper than a latte! Go try it out.(Louis Wu 14:47:27 UTC)

GI Replay: Stubbs the Zombie
Stubbs the Zombie came out in 2005 – it was the first product of Wideload Games, the spinoff studio founded by Alex Seropian when he left Bungie… and the only game to be released that uses the Halo engine but is not Halo. GameInformer has gone back and played it again for their Replay series – it’s not the best look at the game, because they don’t take the playthrough particularly seriously… but if you missed it (or just miss it now!), this is a chance to see it in action. Thanks, nillapuddin. (Louis Wu 14:43:00 UTC)

ReadyUpLive talks to Frankie
RUL’s Greenskull grabbed Frankie at PAX, and asked a lot of questions. Go hear the answers! (There’s a reason this man does lots of 343 interviews…) (Louis Wu 20:25:57 UTC)

Jaw-dropping concept art for Venerance
TDSpiral stopped in with some concept art he created for the Venerance project (a Crysis 2 total mod). It shows Côte d’Azur… on fire. It’s amazing! If you sign up for the Venerance forums (free, of course), you can see a couple of other versions (day and night, not on fire) – all came from a sketch originally done by Leviathan, but made into something beautiful by TDSpiral. (Links are in his forum post.) It’s amazing what this group can do!(Louis Wu 20:23:43 UTC)

Halo 2: Recap Revolved
Spec ops Grunt let us know about a Halo 2 recap that… made me laugh. It ain’t Downton Abbey… it’s closer to South Park. But it’s funny. (I’m pretty sure I’ve NEVER heard someone sing a medley of Titanic and The Little Mermaid before…) (Louis Wu 20:04:27 UTC)

Dropping More Pod
Also from the Podtacular crew, don’t miss Podtac 308, which has the crew discussing non-Halo stuff from the show floor. It’s a cool look at the “rest of the world” from Halo-focused minds. Go listen!(Louis Wu 19:58:54 UTC)

High Council-Approved
Join CruelLEGACEY, Duststorm, Goosechecka, and yours truly for a new “Modtacular”; a combining of forces from the Waypoint Modcast and Podtacular crews where we talk PAX, Halo 4, and gender battles. You can find the audio (same either way) at both the Waypoint Modcast site (Episode 26) or the Podtacular site (Episode 309). Go listen!(GrimBrother One 19:54:36 UTC)

Gamasutra Sees Red
Quirel pointed out an article at Gamasutra – it looks at the concept of regenerating health in videogames, and why it can be a problem. Halo examples play a pretty big role. Really interesting read!(Louis Wu 19:50:57 UTC)

Weekends and webcomics go hand in hand, and there’s no better day to celebrate that relaxing ritual than on Sunday. Today’s
Halo-themed Weekend Webcomic is brought to you by Maria Masuimi. Enjoy this whacky story involving the Master Chief, 343 Industries, a nasty curse, and some hamster zombies, and if you have a comic you’d like to submit for possible future inclusion, send it to bsangel[at]halowaypoint.com!

Too Drunk To Tube – a bungie.org contest
We got some goodies for giveaway at PAX. Unfortunately, I packed them up for shipping before I had a chance to take pictures, or even a solid inventory. (A handle of Captain Morgan’s might or might not have had something to do with the thought process involved.) If you’re the kind of person who likes to receive stiff tubes filled with unknown goodies… swing by our Too Drunk to Tube page and sign up. We’ll pick two lucky winners on Monday, and send you what’s coming to you!(Louis Wu 19:52:17 UTC)
