Psst! Wanna get in early?
Ars Technica is the first site offering 20 codes to get you in to the Friends and Family portion of the Reach Beta (it opens on April 29, rather than May 3) – swing by and send them an email to be entered. (They’ve got 5 more on TOP of that via Twitter, too.) Thanks, MffnMn.(Louis Wu 15:30:15 UTC)

AH: XBL Red Dead Redemption Giveaway (UK only)
Morning chaps and chapettes,
Red Dead Redemption has a new Multiplayer Freeroam trailer out on the XBL Marketplace, I recommend downloading it if you’re interested in the game, but if you’re not, download it anyway. If you’re living in the UK, and over the age of 18, you’ll be in with a chance of winning either 400 MSP or a Red Dead Redemption theme for your dashboard if you download the trailer between April 26, 2010, 12:01 AM GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and May 10, 2010, 11:59 PM GMT.
For all the details, and terms and conditions, head on over the XBox.com via this handy link. Again, this competition is UK only.
I’m pretty sure cowboys are more associated with America, missed advertising opportunity there if you ask me.

And… more.
sqorck pointed out a bunch of new Reach footage at Joystiq, and 2900d4u pointed out a bunch of new movies at GameTrailers. I’d expect this to continue all day. (You might want to keep an eye on our forum, since I may or may not be able to stay on top of stuff all day long.) Update: IGN has video too – thanks, GrimBrother One.(Louis Wu 14:06:35 UTC)

The Video Onslaught Commences… Now
GiantBomb has posted a bunch of footage (35 minutes!) they grabbed during the press event they attended last week – this is the first real (full-game-by-randoms) gameplay we’ve seen. They start off playing Network Defense, but move into other gametypes, and there’s commentary from a couple of attendees and some people asking him questions. This is FULL of interesting information! Thanks, DEEP NNN. (The embargo on video footage ends today, so it’s likely we’re going to see quite a bit.)(Louis Wu 14:00:23 UTC)

CVG has a short newsbit about the prices of Halo 3: ODST in the UK, and how game sellers are using the Reach Beta as a chance to sell a bunch of extra copies. Current prices range from £15-20 (US $23-$31). Do you have YOUR copy?(Louis Wu 13:59:54 UTC)

The Ad Onslaught Commences… Soon
GrimBrother One noticed a new website, Welcome to Noble Team, with a teaser image that makes it clear that content will begin arriving on Wednesday – and onebitrocket found a note on Facebook describing an upcoming Spartan ad that launches tomorrow (on television – not on the web until Wednesday). Birth of a Spartan? Sounds intriguing!(Louis Wu 13:59:01 UTC)

He’s all wet.
Marcus posted a quick note up on the Reach Developer Log – looks like water algorithms still rely on older code, so building water elements requires knowledge that newer engineers might not have. Lucky Marcus!(Louis Wu 13:58:27 UTC)

ASE – Administrivia
Rampancy.net has rearranged the way it presents the various versions of its podcast – the mp3 is now available in streaming format (because more browsers can handle that), while the enhanced AAC can still be grabbed from iTunes. Go listen your way!(Louis Wu 13:57:56 UTC)

Hey guys, back again with more Left Fo’ Dead 2, this time covering the *deep breath* “Killing ‘Em Swiftly To This Song” Achievement, which is actually based on the Easter Egg Geoff found way back when. Also, throwing in “Kite Like a Man” which requires you to kill a Tank by doing nothing.Anyway, enjoy and more to come soon.
