Community Member of the Week: tsassi
Every Monday, we feature a community member who does one or more of the following things: routinely goes above and beyond for their fellow forum members, is a positive and active member of the community, and/or sends me mass amounts of cat pictures. This week our Community Member of the Week is tsassi. Read a little more about him below, then hit his profile to learn more about one of our newest Superintendents!
Gamertag: tsassi.
Origin of Gamertag: Originally, tsassi as a username was my dad’s. When I first got my 360, he made this account. Through time and a random series of events, it became my account and I have grown to like the name and haven’t wanted to change it. But happen you ever see a tsassi anywhere outside Xbox LIVE, Waypoint, or Bungie.net, it may not be me but my dad.
Current clan/community: Here I am most of the time.
Halo game(s) you are currently playing: Halo 4, Halo: CE, Halo 2, and occasionally Halo 3 and Reach.
Favorite map, game type and playlist: My favorite map from Halo in general would be Lockout. From Reach, High Noon. Favorite game type is CTF and favorite playlist is Team Snipers.
Least favorite map, game type and playlist: Sword Base, Grifball, and Team SWAT.
Preferred control scheme: Bumper Jumper at inverted sensitivity of ten.
Halo playing style (offense, defense, sniper, driver, etc.): Completely depends on where I play. I can’t really specify a single one, but my most common ones would be sniper, driver, and defense in objective.
Favorite character: Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson.
Favorite Halo book: Cryptum.
Favorite Halo quote: “To give the Covenant back their bomb.” There is nothing more epic than that quote.
Anything else we should know? I enjoy debates, especially when the subject is something that I appreciate deeply such as the gameplay mechanics of Halo. If you ever see my post that you disagree with, don’t be afraid to voice your opinion. I’ll enjoy it as long as you keep your tone respectful.

G4TV’s A History Of Halo
From G4TV:The Halo series revolves around a rich and complex story about vengeance, tradition, and bravery. Many plot points get lost when you’re only playing Team Deathmatch, or if you’re simply new to the series. X-Play has broken down some of the key points in Halo’s narrative, just in time for Halo 4. Check out this video and learn your gaming roots!

Pan-Cam Guide for Halo 4
GeneticSpartan has put together a Halo 4 Pan-Cam Tutorial (and kindly mentioned it on our forum). From what I can tell, it’s not that much different from the Reach Pan-Cam… so if you do better with text-based instructions, remember BlueNinja’s guide here on our forum, but if you’re a video learner, GeneticSpartan’s got your back!(Louis Wu 18:54:48 UTC)

Forge Resources come to light
We’ve mentioned a couple of Certain Affinity Forge tutorials recently – turns out there are 5 so far (and probably more to come). jay mee pointed out the full playlist – and pete_the_duck shared a thread on Halo Waypoint’s forums in which he’s compiling all the Forge resources he knows about! If you’re a Forger, this post is for you.(Louis Wu 18:49:42 UTC)

Dan Marino makes a Halo 4 appearance
Wow… Clicked showed off a grenade-throwing glitch that has some serious possibilities (as far as changing gameplay goes). Check out the video – and if you’re not one of those people who masters this sort of thing, at least you won’t have to say “hey, how’d he do that?” the next time it happens to you. Thanks, CyReN.(Louis Wu 18:40:11 UTC)

The Expanded View
The Panorama truck came around twice today – and there’s tasty goodies to be had both times! Despite a lack of Screenshot upload functionality so far in Halo 4, Beorn put up a series of gorgeous shots… and Hedgemony followed soon after with his own collection (plus one more). Not that it didn’t before… but they make this game look beautiful. (Louis Wu 18:29:37 UTC)

A Fan on a Mission
On Thursday, we mentioned a couple of interviews at Comics Bulletin with fans-turned-343-employees – a new one went live yesterday. Jacob Benton, known to GAFfers or members of Ascendant Justice as Cocopjojo, was hired soon after his blogging partner Jeremy Patenaude came on board – and again, the interview does a fantastic job of giving you a peek into the life of a fan who gets pulled in to work on his favorite game. Awesome read. Thanks to the Halo Waypoint blog for reminding me to look!(Louis Wu 19:27:21 UTC)
