2012 VGAs – Now with More Halo
From halo.bungie.org:
Spike’s Video Game Awards were last night – you can watch the entire 2-hour extravaganza on their website now. If your time is limited, here’s the key stuff: you can watch the new Spartan Ops trailer by starting at around 1:42:30 (if you care about the intro, or 1:43:10 if you don’t). You can also watch it on Kotaku, if you’d rather. Other timestamps worth checking out: 13:45, 38:30. (If you need to save time, we’ve archived these two bits here and here.) In terms of awards, Halo 4 took home Best Xbox 360 Game and Best Graphics. Not too shabby!
Editor’s note: We’ll be releasing a special version of the Spartan Ops trailer seen on the VGAs Sunday night here on Halo Waypoint. Look for it around 8PM PT!

Globe Halo Liberty Shoes Available for Pre-sale
When Globe made a special Halo edition of their Liberty technical skate sneaker, it sold out almost immediately. Just like the Spartans themselves, we couldn’t let such a good thing die. A second wave of shoes were produced and they’re shipping to us in January. We’re releasing the first batch of this new inventory for pre-sale on the Halo Waypoint Store today, so get yours before they’re gone again!

Crimson Map Pack Walkthrough: Wreckage
IGN’s posted their walkthrough of the third Crimson Map Pack map, Wreckage. It looks… well, wrecked. Lots of debris, lots of blue and brown. Lots of particles, sparking circuits, smoke – if you’re used to using map motion to find your prey, this one’s gonna bug you. (If you’re sneaky and like to hide or flank, this map’s gonna be a fave.) Thanks, ElzarTheBam.(Louis Wu 18:06:56 UTC)

Surrounded by stuff… yet isolated.
CruelLEGACEY has posted ‘updated impressions’ of Halo 4 – it’s a followup to his original review. It’s an interesting read, with a lot of food for thought. (The ‘set piece comparison’ vid does a great job of juxtaposing iconic moments from earlier Halos with similar moments in Halo 4.) Go check it out! (Louis Wu 16:34:22 UTC)

IGN’s Tough Love for Spartan Ops
So while IGN is loving War Games, the team that’s looking at Spartan Ops isn’t quite so enthusiastic. Their latest commentary vid covers Episode 5 – they talk a lot about what doesn’t work for them, and how it differs from Firefight. (I found it intriguing that even with all the access IGN gets, these guys, who filmed this on Monday, didn’t realize that the second half of the Spartan Ops season would be coming out in January.) Thanks again, CyReN.(Louis Wu 16:25:42 UTC)
