Forge Quacks #15 – 1 plus 1 equals 0
Just noticed that pete_the_duck posted a new Forge Quacks last week – did you know that two one-way shields placed back-to-back can be passed through in either direction? Weird; I’d have guessed they’d turn into a wall! (Louis Wu 17:24:31 UTC)

Outskirts Trickery
Chappified stopped back in with some more messing around on Halo 2’s Outskirts – mostly using a spazzing Phantom to shoot him around the map, but there’s other stuff too. Take a look!(Louis Wu 17:21:34 UTC)

Multi-title Tricking
On this first day of 2013, we have tricks from a wide range of Halo titles, all coming from different tricksters! Amazing.- Chappified showed off a new way to corner ride to the bottom of the huge first wall in Halo 2‘s Sacred Icon – an amazingly long drop.
- The SuperWaffle and Tenacious Tricking have revisited a two-year-old Halo 3 trick – and reduced the 2-hour timeframe to accomplish it to a mere 10 minutes. Go visit The Island in Sierra 117!
- MelkorTheGreat let us know about a new video from SomeFilthyCasuals that shows you how to fly a Pelican on the Halo 4 level Infinity… that’s THREE levels you can fly one in!

Frog Blast The Vent Core
The last Penny Arcade comic of 2012 (warning: profanity) features a free iOS game called Spaceteam that Tycho described as being to Galaxy Quest what Artemis is to Star Trek. It’s a cooperative science fiction jargon game that allows players to– among other things– actually frog blast the vent core. Whatever that actually means.

Getta LOCUS This
Big thanks to The Lionheart for bringing to my attention this absolutely sick render of the awesome MJOLNIR GEN 2 LOCUS helmet worn by great-looking Spartan IV’s in Halo 4. The render comes from the Deviant Art gallery of Rhythem02, and is well worth the look. Check it out, and HAPPY FREAKING NEW YEAR, HALO FANS! (GrimBrother One 00:47:17 UTC)

Halo/Halo 2 Cutscene Commentary
In 2007, Bungie released a DVD with the Legendary Edition of Halo 3 that contained all of the Halo and Halo 2 cutscenes on it. Nothing really suprising here (well, they WERE re-rendered to clean up some minor glitches)… but there WAS a special part. There was a Directors Commentary track, with Joe Staten, Marty O’Donnell, and Jason Jones talking about the making of the game in the context of these cutscenes. For fans of the company, it’s gold. We’ve never put it online before, partly because it was exclusive to the Legendary Edition, and partly because it’s more than 2 hours of video, in just a couple of files… we’re not made of money here. A few days ago, though, FyreWulff pointed out that he’d predicted, back in 2009, that these might be available here by the end of 2012. Foolishly, I suggested that I had the power to make that prediction come true. Five years is long enough… so although the video quality is pretty low (after all, the cutscenes are available in much higher quality in many other places, including our own Cutscene Library), the critical part – the audio commentary – is now available for your listening pleasure. Halo commentary is here, while Halo 2 commentary is here. Be sure to thank FyreWulff for making this happen!(Louis Wu 19:47:09 UTC)
