  • More Halo: Reach multiplayer videos. Pinnacle. Zealot.

The famous Halo 2 map known as Ascension returns in Halo: Reach as “Pinnacle”. Again this is another near exact remake of a classic map.

“Zealot” is a map with characteristics resembling Midship. However, this map isn’t intended to be a remake of Midship.

  • Seven Questions With Bungie’s Max Dyckhoff

max_dyckhoff_bungie copy Bungie AI programmer Max Dyckhoff last month mentioned a long-standing bug in Halo’s driving code he’d found and eliminated. He was later kind enough to go into a bit more detail about how Halo’s AI figures out how to handle driving and riding in vehicles.

Q: You’re one of several active community members who went on to actually work at Bungie. How many Halo games have you worked on now, and what were your primary contributions to each?

A: I started at Bungie at the beginning of production on Halo 3, where I worked with Damian Isla on the AI systems. I spent some time adding a few AI features for ODST as well, such as Firefight, before moving on to Reach, where I have again been working on the AI team. For Reach I’ve added a bunch of great things like new flying behaviors, better vehicle driving, Elite combat, and so on. The AI team is typically very small, just 2-3 for most of Reach, but we get a lot done.

    Hey Everyone,
Here’s today’s comic. Sorry it’s a tad late. I’ve been in the booth at Comic Con all day, and just now had the opportunity to sneak away and post it. • AH: Achievement Hunter Anniversary Celebration continues this Friday on AHTV.

As we all know, Achievement Hunter’s second Birthday is coming up this Wednesday, We’ve got a spiffy Game-Day with Burnout Paradise set for that, but that’s not all. This Friday also marks the second anniversary of Achievement Hunter TV, so I feel that’s a great place to start for a weekend of AHTV events, Y’know, after I get my iPhone 4. I’m still hashing out the details, but I know that the following things will most likely/hopefully be featured:

Gears of War 2 Horde waves 1 – 50 on Nowhere. (I’m trying to get Jack and/or Geoff to attend, no guarantees.) Want in? Have the ability to Skype and play games simultaneously? Lemme know in the comments.
Alan Wake on Nightmare + Collectible playthrough
Limbo <5 death playthrough, plus all Achievement Eggs, in one sitting (could be bitchy)
Fallout 3 and all the DLC, quests and stuff I need to do since last time.
Maybe a Live triumphant return of Gamers Rapport with Episode 15 (checking on FraggEAR)
    HolyCrapICanDirectFeedMyDreamcastNowSoAllMyGamesEverAlwaysForAwesomeAndGreatJustice
    Bioshock 2 on Hard.
Maybe a 24 hour broadcast on Saturday. Maybe.

So that’s what I’m thinking so far. Any ideas? Requests? Scheduling help? Sound off in the comments.

  • AH: You know!

Who else is excited for the Burnout Paradise Community Day? I know I am! “But, but, but that is two more days from now! What will I do until then?” you may ask. The correct answer is: Watch today’s fresh new AHWU!

  • RT: Chapter 14 Now Online!

The next exciting chapter (that’s Chapter 14) in Red vs. Blue: Revelation is now available, including a Sponsors Only extended version.

We’ve also been hard at work on the DVD, and you can now pre-order the Red vs. Blue: Revelation DVD and the Recollection DVD Set (including all three discs: Reconstruction, Recreation and Revelation) from the Rooster Teeth Store now!

    The DVDs ship 9/14.
But Chapter 14 is available today!
