Birth of a Spartan is not coming along so well. I have had a few technical difficulties with Finale and have finally fixed a few problems only to realize that this song is very hard to put into sheet music. I cant seem to find a way to get it to sound right. I have the entire song figured out till the end from what I believe to be the correct notes but I am kind of stuck putting the part where Carter is about to recieve his augmentations into shet music. I havent found a way to put that part on Finale yet but in time it will happen.

Keep looking at this blog for updates on how it is working out and maybe even an estimated time of arrival. Leave a comment or email me if you think you can help or have any suggestions. When the sheet music is finally here I will move this blog into the sheet music section.

UPDATE: Ironically after I posted this I found out the perfect way to put it in sheet music! Now I am at the part where Carter’s eyes turn blue. Once again if you have any suggestions feel free to leave a comment. If you would like to help me out with Finale leave a comment asking me and I will send you the file via email.

It’s actually a bit too slow to march, but it could be played as a pep tune…

Here is Epilogue from the Halo Reach Official Sound Track. It is only the beginning part that is actually played on the piano that I have transcribed and no I will not be attempting to finish the rest. If there is another transcriber out there who would be willing to do so feel free to use this as your starting point. This song is really easy to play and shouldn’t take you any more than a few minutes to learn. And so without further ado I bid you farewell and enjoy the sheet music.

Note: Just a heads up to everybody. I’m having a few problems trying to put Birth of a Spartan on Finale. The tempo of the song keeps randomly speeding up on me and I havent found a way around it yet so it might not be up as quick as I had hoped it would. I’ll finish it up and post the pdf within the week and I’ll try to get up the midi and mus as soon as I figure out how to solve the problem.

UPDATE: Revised sheet music and replaced old files.

I’ve finally gotten around to getting this up. This piece takes a little practice to play but overall is not very hard. The file includes .mus (Finale Printmusic 2011) as usual, but I have a surprise for you guys this time! It also has a pdf and an midi file! I know what your thinking… since when does this guy provide us with those? Well I finally went out of my way to download a program for you guys so hopefully you wont be sending me emails about how you can’t download the .mus file. Anyways enjoy the sheet music and keep an eye out for Birth of a Spartan and Epilogue in the future. I might also make an orchestrated score for this song as well. Have fun guys. Michial out…

Edit: I’ve added a midi file of the orchestrated version just for you to listen to. I did not include the sheet music as it is just the same notes played on the piano moved over to the appropriate instrument. If you would still like to see the sheet music and or have the .mus file then just leave a comment on this post requesting it and ill add it in the next chance I get.

11/1/10 UPDATE: Revised sheet music and fixed mistakes in the Orchestra midi. Now includes the Orchestrated version from the cutscene (Kat’s) on the level New Alexandria. No sheet music for Orchestra parts as it has not been requested.
