The Halo Theme Song, Al Fresco
Huh. The Halo Medley video we mentioned yesterday was released yesterday afternoon (thanks, TTL Demag0gue) – and then disappeared again. A new version is back up this morning (thanks, thebruce0) – but it’s been recut, with no sign of the 405th members who participated in the first version. This one is just Lindsey Stirling (on violin) and William Joseph (on piano), in the woods – still really cool, and still a fantastic version of the Halo theme… but Spartan-free. Go watch!(Louis Wu 18:02:08 UTC)

Waypoint Weekly Test Nights: 5.22.13

From AgentPaperCraft:
Hello, Waypoint goers! With the addition of community-made content going into Matchmaking, custom maps and game types have become an integral part of Halo’s Multiplayer. Forgers and game type creators often work hours, days and even months on their content before it’s considered for Matchmaking, and it’s usually the lack of having a ready player-base to test their maps that makes it takes so long. So I offer an option to our Forgers, a place to bring your maps and game types to have them tested and reviewed by a group of the top Forgers around. You’ll receive top-notch forging tips and tricks to wow your players, improve map spawn and flow, provide a better map experience and get your name out there. You’ll also get to work directly with the Community Cartographers, a select group of community Forge enthusiasts who work with 343 Industries in the search of top-quality content for Matchmaking consideration. Every Wednesday night at 6PM ET, get an invite by sending “AgentPaperCraft” a message over Xbox LIVE, or leave a comment in the Test Night Thread.
Hope to see you there!

Video Design Tips by Rockslider
Rockslider has put together a guide to help you create videos – it doesn’t contain information about the hardware you’ll need, and it doesn’t contain information about the software you’ll need, but it DOES contain tips on how to optimize your content, how to present it to your audience, and how to ensure that your raw footage contains what you need to get from beginning to end. Give it a read! (He’s started a thread on our forum, if you have comments.)(Louis Wu 19:28:17 UTC)

Halo Medley – Revisiting a Cool Fan Shoot
Last year, we mentioned a teaser pic that showed off Lindsey Stirling, the amazing dancing violinist, holding a giant Halo turret. In December, DevinSuperTramp released his ‘Real Life Halo’ video, and I assumed that was that… but today, DHalo pointed out both a version of the Halo theme played by Lindsey Stirling, and a Behind-The-Scenes vid from DevinSuperTramp, showing the recording session (which seems to be the same recording session as last year’s piece). The actual Halo Medley vid should be live in the next day or so. In the meantime, enjoy everything else!(Louis Wu 17:54:45 UTC)

The Story of Perdita – coming to life with your help!
Wow, this is pretty cool. If you followed ilovebees, the ARG that was used as part of Halo 2’s marketing campaign, you might remember Perdita – the character created by the AI Melissa to help her deal with the predicament she found herself in. Curt Stewart is an independent filmmaker who has decided to bring Perdita’s tale to life… as an animated film. (He’s posted a couple of vines – one | two – so that you can see where he’s going with this.) He can’t do it alone, though – so he’s turned to Kickstarter to let you help make this happen. Swing by and listen to the why and the what – and if you can throw in your help, he might just be able to bring this tale to the masses! (Time is of the essence – this kickstarter has until May 23 to get funded. That’s less than 3 days from now!)(Louis Wu 18:58:26 UTC)
