The Master Chief and Cortana continue their pursuit of the Didact as he searches for the Composer, a powerful machine that can turn the fate of humanity in an instant. Scientists at Ivanoff Research Station have been studying the Forerunner artifact but now they are in jeopardy. The Chief and Cortana must prevent the Didact from finding and obtaining the Composer before it’s too late. We are joined from across the pond by writer/director Peter Cooper as we near the conclusion of Halo 4?s story arc. Enjoy!

Halo is a fictional universe. However, sometimes we catch sight of things in real life that remind us of our favorite science fiction video game franchise. This particular series, titled Halo in Real Life, showcases those very moments. Enjoy the subtle Halo references sometimes spotted when out and about in the real world, and if you have a picture you’d like to submit for possible future inclusion, send it to bsangel[at]halowaypoint.com!

I made this video to test out the new Forge Island green screen. I made it pretty fast but I hope you still enjoy it!
Some people show their love for Halo by playing the games. Others get a relevant image permanently placed upon their body. Enjoy this particular example of a Halo-related body modification, and if you have a picture you’d like to submit for possible future inclusion, send it to bsangel[at]halowaypoint.com!

From Dust Storm:
A few lucky community members got invited to an early PAX event to play the Castle Map Pack. We were given early access to the Mad Catz Unveiled pre-PAX party and got a first look at the maps dropping on April 8th. All maps were playable including Daybreak, Perdition and Outcast in various game modes such as CTF, Slayer and King of the Hill. Among those community members were people from our good friends over at Ready Up Live, those of which you may already know, but are making their debut podcast appearance representing RUL’s presence at PAX. Public Relations SMG90, Creative Manager Drax and community member Micky 126 and I huddled in their hotel room for a late night recording so we could talk about what we took away from the event, resulting in the following podcast. Enjoy!

The first installment of my new Halo 4 top ten series is now live. I hope you all enjoy!
Every Monday, we feature a community member who does one or more of the following things: routinely goes above and beyond for their fellow forum members, is a positive and active member of the community, and/or sends me mass amounts of cat pictures. This week our Community Member of the Week is stckrboy. Read a little more about this particular fan below, then hit their profile to learn even more!

Gamertag: stckrboy.
Origin of Gamertag: A phpBB community meetup, a box of stickers and me. 🙂
Current clan/community: Never been much of a clan person. *edit* WOW *facepalm* – How about the Halo community? Doi! Also, props to my fellow Section 3 / ARG friends. I’d consider you guys my clan/community too. 🙂
Halo game(s) you are currently playing: Halo 4, CEA, 2, ODST.
Favorite map, game type and playlist: Narrows/Sandbox/Blackout, Swat/KOTH, Big Team.
Least favorite map, game type and playlist: Zealot/Heretic (just never liked those Covenant maps), Assault, can’t think of a least favorite playlist.
Preferred control scheme: Recon. Press B for melee. 😀
Halo playing style (offense, defense, sniper, driver, etc.): I like to stay back, pick off from afar. I’m a careful player.
Favorite Halo character: Always loved Cortana, Buck is my close 2nd – Chief is a class of his own. 😉
Favorite Halo book: Only read a couple, but loved Cryptum. My first Halo book.
Favorite Halo quote: “The Great Journey is about to begin. But, when it does, the weight of your heresy will stay your feet… and you shall be left behind.”
Anything else we should know? Been a fan of Halo since I first played CE on my PC. 2 am playing Truth with headphones on. xD
Halo 2 is my favorite campaign followed by ODST – I’m much more of a campaign / story guy.

Forge Island was set to release on April 11th, but 343i let it into the wild early. I give you a quick rundown of why Forge Island deserves a 10/10 score.
GameSpot has posted the entirety of Bungie’s GDC talk, given by Joe Staten and Christopher Barrett, about building Destiny’s world and characters, over in their YouTube channel. Honestly, stuff like this– showing the depth and breadth of thought that Bungie puts into making its worlds– gets me a lot more excited about the game than trailers.
Bungie also has embedded a version of the talk over on their own site, but it’s a Flash-only player that probably won’t work on most mobile devices.
DestinyTracker (blog, YouTube channel) put up this copy of another video Bungie showed during the GDC presentation by Barrett and Staten; a short timelapse sequence showing the editing of a moon base location in Grognok, the Destiny world editor.

Fridays are about two things, fun and captions. That’s why our newest festivity – aptly titled Friday Caption Fun – prominently features both. Here’s what will happen from here on out: I’ll post a screenshot on Friday, and, if all goes according to plan, you’ll provide as many captions for it as your multi-fingered appendages can type out. The following week we’ll highlight the most entertaining responses, and we’ll also supply you with a brand new image to start the process all over again. If that sounds good to you, take a gander at the image below, and then hit the appropriate forum thread to post your caption. Off you go!
