Halo 4 Matchmaking Update: 11.11.13

In today’s Matchmaking update, we’ve brought back Multi-Team as our featured playlist! Now with new settings and game types, Multi-Team features four teams of three players each (rather than six teams of two players each). We’re also now offering Multi-Regicide in the voting options, as it was the clear winner in last week’s Community Choice Poll.

In Multi-Regicide, each team of three must choose to go on the offensive and attack other teams (and their King) or to defend an area in hopes that the opposition will come to them. The flow of the gameplay has similarities to Halo 3’s “VIP” game type, and we’re looking forward to hearing your feedback on this new game type. The Multi-Team playlist will be available until November 25th.

Lastly, based on community feedback, we’ve also removed Skulls from Spartan Ops Episode 1-8 in the Spartan Ops Timeline. If you’ve been wanting to replay these missions without Skulls enabled, jump in!

This week marks the birthday of Halo 4. One year ago we were on the edge of our seats in anticipation waiting for this game to release at retail only to go home and play the Campaign and War Games. Now a year later we look at the transformation that has happened to the game and the franchise, some good and some not so good. In celebration, they released a video with some of the crazy stuff they did with the game that didn’t make it to the final version. If you check on this week’s Halo Bulletin, you get a glimpse at some of the festivities they had at the studio. Mini Chief was at the party assisting Spartan Bravo in cutting the Halo 4 birthday cakes. In the midst of celebration, details of the next rotational playlist, Multi-Team is out with the playlist dropping this Monday with the community choice of Multi-Regicide. Enjoy

I was looking over the early votes for this year’s Guilt O’ Lantern contest, and I noticed a disturbing trend. There are quite a number of people who are coming in and voting for just a single pumpkin. Now one of the submitters asked if there were any rules about asking their friends to vote for them, and I said that there weren’t – but I’d hope that ANYONE voting for pumpkins would be willing to look at the entire field. You have 5 votes – use ’em! By all means, cast a vote for your buddy – but realize that there are other prizes, and other worthwhile pumpkins… participate fully, rather than simply casting a single vote and walking away! A true MLG player, Tai is probably the best Halo player out of all of the contestants. Having attended many professional events, his team play and 1v1 abilities cannot be questioned. His attention to detail and great awareness makes him a formidable contestant. However, due to his abilities he may well be targeted as an early threat to eliminate. Early alliances may prove essential for him to remain. Only time will tell if his Halo skills are applicable to the challenges to come. Regardless of this fact, he should go far in this competition.
