Halo Customs Presents the Best of Forge 2013
From Halo Customs:
Hello, ladies and gents! Welcome to the Best of Forge 2013. Now, what exactly is this “Best of Forge,” you ask? It’s quite simple really! Since the release of Halo 4, we’ve seen some truly amazing Forge creations that have baffled the minds of even the most experienced forgers. Whether it’s a beautifully-designed competitive Slayer map that flows like water, a Flood map that has managed to create an atmosphere of its own, or a mini-game so creative you just can’t put your controller down – HaloCustoms, along with the wonderful Mr Pokephile, want to give these maps the spotlight and recognition they deserve.

ASE Ep. 74: Six Thousand Feet Under M2 lvl 13
Durandal has decided that the true secrets of the S’pht must be submerged in lava, rather than slime or water. Oh joy. This level gives players no ammunition (thank goodness for the scripts provided by irons and treelama) and marks the start of Marathon 2’s difficulty curve getting a bit steeper.

The Birth of Xbox LIVE
Polygon has a fantastic look back at the birth of Xbox Live – and surprisingly, Halo (which didn’t have a live-enabled title for the first two years of the service) plays a pretty sizable role. Great read! Thanks, cheapLEY (and e!)(Louis Wu 23:45:45 UTC)

Thinking Holistically about the Halo Franchise

Halo 4 WTF Moments: Infinite Devil Machine
The Tyrant sent word of a new Halo 4 WTF Moment – which is actually longer than a moment. It’s a 6-minute video from a run through Reclaimer, and it shows you what can happen when you circumvent the rules. Breaking one thing sometimes breaks a lot more!(Louis Wu 22:54:45 UTC)

Halo 4 Matchmaking Update: 11.11.13
In today’s Matchmaking update, we’ve brought back Multi-Team as our featured playlist! Now with new settings and game types, Multi-Team features four teams of three players each (rather than six teams of two players each). We’re also now offering Multi-Regicide in the voting options, as it was the clear winner in last week’s Community Choice Poll.
In Multi-Regicide, each team of three must choose to go on the offensive and attack other teams (and their King) or to defend an area in hopes that the opposition will come to them. The flow of the gameplay has similarities to Halo 3’s “VIP” game type, and we’re looking forward to hearing your feedback on this new game type. The Multi-Team playlist will be available until November 25th.
Lastly, based on community feedback, we’ve also removed Skulls from Spartan Ops Episode 1-8 in the Spartan Ops Timeline. If you’ve been wanting to replay these missions without Skulls enabled, jump in!

Fails of the Weak Volume 164
Geoff and Gavin look at the latest batch of fails in this week’s Fails of the Weak (viewable either on AchievementHunter.com or YouTube) – and while most clips show semi-familiar stuff (this IS the 164th episode, after all), the last fail is pretty impressive. Check it out! Thanks, Nikko B201.(Louis Wu 20:51:50 UTC)
