Bots… of a sort
Some interesting stuff over at HaloMods yesterday… dmauro and Aztec have managed to put AI into multiplayer. Stefander made a film. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes. (There’s also a new ‘Pillar of Autumn detonation’ projectile, for those who want REALLY big explosions…) Lots of people sent word of this last night, but Dan H. was first. Thanks!

A new protocol for movie distribution
Thanks to David Tinkler, President of Two Degrees, for providing links for a new peer-based protocol for serving large Halo-related files. You’ll find information (and mirror links) in this protocol on both the Inside Halo 2 documentary mirror page posted recently, and the large Halo E3 Demo trailer mirror page. Client is currently Windows-only… but you should check it out!

Looks more like a puma…
Red vs Blue has created a new promo for the SpikeTV Video Game Awards. If you’re a sponsor, it’s available now for download on their forum. (If you’re not, it’ll be out for the masses sometime later.) It’s great. Thanks to P_40E for the heads-up.

KORHAL’s vids – online, together
Nukedude pointed out that he has hosted all 5 of KORHAL’s movies, in one place. If you’re interested in what KORHAL’s been up to, here’s a decent place to start. (If you don’t know who KORHAL is, you can just watch the movies; it doesn’t really matter.)

Halo Spikes the Competition
The Spike TV Video Game Awards were given out last night in Las Vegas, and though they won’t air on Spike TV before tomorrow night, GamerFeed has announced the winners. Halo 2 was up for ‘Most Anticipated Game’ – it won. Halo PC was up for ‘Best PC Game’ – it won. (It was also up for ‘Best First-Person Action Game’ – but lost to Call of Duty.) Watch the details on Spike TV tomorrow at 9 pm! Thanks to Jesper Nielsen for the heads-up. (Apologies to anyone offended by the early notice.)

A tribute to a friend
Not mine, actually – Morningstar’s. (The tribute, that is. I wasn’t – oh, never mind.) The MorningStar decided there was a missing feature here at HBO – a way to read stories written by forum jester Skavenger, without having to search through the archives. (Skavenger has never opted to submit his works to our Fan Fiction section.) Star figured that while he was compiling this list of jewels-in-the-rough, he might as well polish them up a bit; clean up spelling, punctuation, that sort of thing. In theory, with his help, this section will continue to be updated, if new stories are added to the forum. Without further ado, I direct you to the Skavenger_s7 section of HBO; may you find a laugh or two.

HaloCity – a growing hub
progamerz stopped by our forum to point out three new sites at HaloCity, all modding-related; check out SomeRhino’s Domain (nice shots of an in-progress map), Skin Deep (shots of racing stripe skins for hogs, among other things), and Digital Adrenaline (no real info yet, just a Flash intro).

Wait, I think you missed one…
In the ‘too much time on their hands’ category, Hikaru-119 takes home the golden penguin for his Munitions count on all campaign levels of Halo. Gah.

Not A Glitch.
Stuntmutt revisits the mystery at the top of 343 Guilty Spark in today’s One One Se7en. Dunno why… I was expecting a ‘Can you hear me now?’ joke instead…
