DrBizz Breaks In
Whoa. High Impact Halo went into cryosleep back in April 2011 – it had one update in June of that year, when a long-standing trick challenge finally fell, but otherwise has been read-only for almost 3 years. Until today. There’s a new post, courtesy of Ducain, because a ridiculously difficult trick, worked on by the community for almost 10 years, has finally been completely successfully. Swing by and read the details!(Louis Wu 23:49:46 UTC)

Podtacular 404: Brent Not Found
The year 2013 brought us the peak of the Halo 4 experience and many memories, but as we look to 2014, the way for Halo is bright and never unchanging. We’ve had the privilege of being with you throughout the Halo 4 experience and will continue to do so until the emergence of Halo 5 later this year. 343 Industries has many plans for Halo and just as such, Podtacular has some plans of our own. We can’t wait to see what 2014 brings us and we hope you all will be along with us for the ride.
This week, we tackle some of the Halo news that transpired during our two week hiatus including some more signs of Halo 5 news on the rise. You’ll want to check out this week’s Halo Bulletin for the latest matchmaking information and an interview from one of our good friends, petetheduck. We also discuss some of our goals for the new year, so if you want to get a jump start on this year in Halo, check us out!

Is that a NEW project?
Hmm. Scified noticed a short-lived (deleted now) Twitter conversation in which Production Weekly mentioned a Halo project written by Paul Scheuring and produced by Ridley Scott. Absolutely the first I’m hearing of this! Not sure what to make of it… but there’s a discussion going on at NeoGAF if you want to speculate. Thanks, bryan newman.(Louis Wu 19:13:57 UTC)

The GH057 of 343
Eric Hewitt, better known to the Halo community as Gh057ayame, has taken a position with 343 industries (Team Beyond has the story, based on a tweet of his plane ticket out, and his Twitter bio). He joins a number of other Halo pros there – first Bravo, then Dersky, and Neighbor, were all hired by the company. This concentration should have significant effects on the multiplayer of the next Halo title! Thanks, pete_the_duck.(Louis Wu 19:13:34 UTC)

The Future of the Halo Franchise
Den of Geek has an article speculating about where the Halo storyline (in games, at least) might be going – and some of the arguments it makes might surprise our forumgoers. Interesting read, whether you agree or not!(Louis Wu 23:35:38 UTC)

Suicide Episode 8
Death McGunz let us know that Suicide Episode 8 is live – it seems like it’s more a description of how to play a custom game than a machinima, but hey – it’s always good to learn!(Louis Wu 23:04:07 UTC)

Fails of the Weak 173
I said I wouldn’t post more Fails of the Weak because the AchievementHunter guys had stopped even paying attention to the fails… but this week’s episode has a return to actual commentary on the footage. You can watch it on AH.com or YouTube – there are some fun ones! Thanks, Nikko B201.(Louis Wu 23:02:14 UTC)

ASE Ep. 90 All Roads Lead to Sol M1 lvl 28
This is it, the last level of Marathon 2: Durandal! Blackstar and Narcogen will try to use chea… I mean, the special nature of network cooperative play to both view the secret credit terminal and complete the level, which is normally almost impossible in solo play at normal difficulty or above. After a short break, we’ll be back with Marathon Infinity– until then enjoy the Minecraft: Build the Marathon series at OSXCoopGames.net!

Statengate
A few months back Joseph Staten, writer and designer director on Destiny, surprised us with his unexpected departure from Bungie in order "to tackle new creative challenges." Today, Xbox Studio Manager Mike Ybarra tweeted that Staten is now back at Microsoft serving as Senior Creative Director. Many speculated that this was his return to the Halo franchise, but Polygon reports that Staten isn’t directly involved with the next Halo game. Instead, "he will help create the world’s best entertainment on Xbox, as well as help shape our franchise strategy for some Microsoft Studios titles." It will be interesting to see where this leads! Thanks, Mariachi and marmot 1333. And thanks to Frankie for the title.(mastrbiggy 09:38:04 UTC)
