Dolbex sent along word that Zyos continues his reign as Grand High Pro Player Poobah by winning the FFA competition at MLG San Francisco, and also being on the 2v2 winning team (with Tsquared) and the 4v4 winning team (Team Yesss!, made up of Zyos, Tsquared, Slim, and Scythe). Blade has sent along the winning entries for his Halo 2 Cover Design Contest (last mentioned here). We’ve put them up for display, along with the scoring. Halo: Blood Covenant is a pretty slick Halo side-scrolling game that made its first appearance back in March. It was playable by June, in demo form. They’re back now, with a new contest; Face the Chief. They’re looking for the features of the man beneath the helmet; if you can provide them, you can win a place within the game. Noah Hofmann, aka Ultrash, has whipped up another remix of his older ‘Halo: The Resistance’ track; we mentioned it here. You can find the new piece (9.6 mb, 7:03 long) hosted on files.bungie.org. If you want to use this in a Halo-related project, simply contact Noah.

Boxer tells us that Adventures in Disaster Episode 9 is up over at akba.info… I think it has something to do with reflective fecal material. Give it a look.

pushbak, inspired by Mike Miller’s gunless Belly of the Beast performance, has submitted a new run through the Pillar of Autumn, doing the entire level on Legendary without firing a shot. (Lots and lots of grenades, and melee attacks… but not a single shot.) The movie is 8:03 long, and 28.1 mb large, in QuickTime format. You can grab it from Mythica.org. EthanDM, of Halo World, posted a note last week on the Gearbox forums, attempting once again to get 1000 players on HaloCE at one time; if this can be accomplished, Randy Pitchford of Gearbox has pledged to update Halo CE with new features and bug fixes. The first day for this new push is today – and it runs all week. Read the post for times and information – and join in to help make Halo CE be all that it can be! Thanks to scottisonfire for letting us know last week. (I’ve held off because I know how short-term the memory of some Halo fans can be; I figured if you only have to remember for a few hours, there’s a chance you’ll join in. 🙂 )

tLove sent along an ad he scanned (750×1019, 302k)out of the latest issue of EGM; it contains shots of two of the winning teams of the Mountain Dew contest that took place in July, enjoying their time at Bungie Studios. Looks like fun!

Mogwong points out a Halo tourney in Wagga Wagga, Australia, on October 1. The ‘Chipps Dubbo 2004 Halo Memorial Tournament… OF DOOM!‘ looks to be a night of fun; as far as I can tell, there’s no money on the line, just pride. Check out the web page, and if you’re in the area, go participate!
