  • Training Daze

Red vs Blue Season 12 Episode 5 went live yesterday – and Felix showed the crew how difficult it can be to be deadly. Once again, I’m impressed with the polish of this season – the storytelling, the integration of machinima and CG, the spot-on music. Go watch!(Louis Wu 14:53:52 UTC)

  • Halo Community Member Spotlight: Saucey

Every other Monday, we feature an individual who is a positive and active member of the Halo community. This week the spotlight turns to Saucey!

Question: What’s your gamertag and its origin?

Answer: When I was in middle school my friends and I would play Halo 2 on Xbox Live quite a bit. While most people were using phrases like “get wrecked” to humiliate their opponents after a game, our common phrase would be “Get the Sauce” or “Get Sauced on.” Kind of weird, and strange, but we all felt like it was funny for whatever reason. So naturally I ended up changing my gamertag to “Saucey” because I hand out that sauce to my opponents.

Q: Tell us about the first time you played Halo.

A: In middle school, I believe sixth grade was the first time I played Halo. We were at my friend’s house for a birthday party and everyone was split-screening Halo 2. I distinctly remember playing a few games and thinking how incredible this game was, and how I needed to go and get my Mom to buy me an Xbox right when I got home…which I successfully accomplished, and proceeded to tear it up on the mean streets of Xbox Live.

  • Drunken Halo 77

  • Halo 5 Guardians: XBOX One Advert

I recently stumbled across a pretty fun fan-made advertisement on Vimeo – Daniel Kemeys and friends put together Halo 5 Guardians: Xbox One Advert. What would YOU do with a Master Chief suit? The VFX were really well-done – go watch!(Louis Wu 15:28:19 UTC)

  • PSA: Get a Job

We neglected to mention the recent PSA from the Red vs Blue crew – Simmons and Grif explain the current job market, and help you figure out your best way forward. (Or maybe… not forward.)(Louis Wu 15:24:52 UTC)

  • FotW 193

This week’s Fails of the Weak has a lot of Halo Reach Firefight fails, and you can watch it on AchievementHunter.com or YouTube.(Louis Wu 15:20:17 UTC)

  • Podtacular 425: All the Mine’s a Forge

    Download
We’re back with a short week of news this week as we enter the calm before the E3 storm that will surely release a dropship full of Halo news. There is still some stuff to talk about though with the ever trusty weekly Halo Bulletin. In there, we find the sixth issue of Halo: Escalation, a Forge contest hosted by Beyond Entertainment, an epic Forged remake of a Mammoth by Pete the Duck, and the Halo Mash-up pack dropping on Minecraft this week. See a theme here? On the community side of news, we have a medals mod for Halo PC multiplayer, Halo Charts has returned, and we introduce a new segment where we cover a topic that has been posted in our forums. This week, we highlight a thread on dual-wielding for Halo 5 started by community member Hoss Sauced. Apologies for the audio quality this week. We’re getting Brent squared away with some new gear thanks to your support of the show.

  • Rumor: Halo series begins filming in Belfast

Intriguing – Grizzlei pointed out a very short fan-recorded clip showing the filming of SOMETHING in Belfast, Ireland this week. (It’s labeled ‘Halo filming Titanic Quarter Belfast 28/05/2014’ so maybe the person who filmed it knows more than the video shows.) DEEP NNN reminded us that both Frank O’Connor and Kiki Wolfkill are in Ireland this week… so the stars are aligning. Now we just have to wait a year and a half.(Louis Wu 16:43:31 UTC)

  • Oops, I did it again!

You never thought you’d have to be reminded of Britney Spears again, did you? Hah. Another Wednesday came and went without our acknowledgement of the Halo Bulletin – I blame the flood we had yesterday (don’t you love it when plumbing goes bad?), but really I have no excuse. You should go read it – it contains info on the newest Halo: Escalation issue, the Minecraft Halo mashup we mentioned last week, Beyond Entertainment’s Forge Idol tournament, a super-cool Mammoth from pete_the_duck, and some awesome KotH screenshots. (You can read it in our Halo Bulletin Archive, if you don’t want your IP address showing up two days late in Waypoint’s logs.)(Louis Wu 16:37:35 UTC)

  • Jackal vs Cyborg

Okay, so we’ve seen enough Rockslider articles and videos to know he’s a very thorough investigator… but did you know he likes to torture Jackals? Go watch his latest vid. You might be surprised.(Louis Wu 22:58:09 UTC)

  • The Halo Bulletin: 5.28.14

The weeks that lead up to E3 always sneak up on you. Just a few weeks ago, the team was looking at the calendar and thinking “Wow! We’ve still got over a month until E3!” and now, as we band together to put the finishing touches on our E3 presence (as well as book last minute flights, hotels, and hot-air-balloon packages), we realize that in just under nine days, we’ll be on our way to Los Angeles to prep for the Xbox Press Conference and the frenzy that will follow. We’re excited about our plans at the show, our plans for those of you watching from home, and we can’t wait until the show begins. For this week’s update, we discuss Halo: Escalation, the new Minecraft Mash-Up pack, and more. Let’s get into it!
