Impressive Screenshot Tools
c0ld vengeance pointed out a pretty cool thread over at HaloMods – a month ago, xbox7887 posted a collection of information which (if you have a modded Xbox) will allow you to grab full-resolution screenshots of Halo or Halo 2. The pics are GORGEOUS. Make sure you actually READ the material provided before you bug anyone about this stuff, though. And no, you can’t use this stuff WITHOUT a modded box.

Woo – Big news. Gamespot reports that the Gartner Group says that since Microsoft’s next operating system, Vista, might not make its Q1 2007 release target, that Halo 2 PC might not be out until Q2 either. (This is for all of you who couldn’t figure out that the game might not hit the shelves if the operating system wasn’t available.)

WSVG Announces Titles – including Halo 2
Another big tourney – the World Series of Video Games has announced the official Xbox titles they’ll be using for their 2006 events, and Halo 2 is on the list. Check out the press release at GotFrag. Halo 2 qualifiers will be held in Louisville and Dallas, and registration is open now.

Ok, we hope you have better tips than this.
We’re looking for all kinds of general tips on how to compete at the higher levels in Halo 2. We’re trying to get tips for players between levels 25 and 35, so please don’t tell us where the shotgun spawns. But send in tips about advanced weapon and combo usage, tricky flag caps, map control, teamwork, communication, etc. Just click the submit news and tips link on the right, and don’t forget to tell us your gamertag so we can give you credit!Map of the month: Relic!
Love it or hate it, we all have to play it in certain playlists. You gotta admit it makes for some interesting CTF games at least, and some awesome sniper games if you like that sort of thing. So let’s hear your favorite ways to dominate this map in team slayer, team snipers, 6v6 and Big Team (CTF and Assault).
Deadline for the tips is Thursday night, but you have a much better chance of getting on the show if your tip is sent in EARLY. So what are you waiting for? Send in your tips!

No Online Halo Today
As noted on Bungie.net, Xbox Live will be down for most of today – in theory, they started maintenance a couple of hours ago (2 am PDT, 9 am UTC), and it will continue for the next 12-14 hours. This means no Halo 2 today. Don’t bother Bungie about this – it’s not their maintenance. Thanks to Skywalker DSP for the reminder.
